Millie

Millie is a green-haired Dwarf Ranker assigned to protect Princess Anastasia. Her stern professionalism is tested when the princess is kidnapped, and the rescue teaches her to trust Lux while preserving a guard’s willingness to bear personal risk for her charge.

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Millie serves a princess she considers spoiled, but private frustration never weakens her duty. When Anastasia is abducted, Millie blames herself and is prepared to die recovering her. She accepts Lux’s plan, carries him rapidly toward the enemy, and fights the Dark Magic Ranker Carol with wind and sword techniques while their allies complete the rescue. Anastasia’s survival relieves Millie’s guilt and replaces her earlier suspicion of Lux with earned confidence in his judgment, making the crisis a lesson in cooperation rather than solitary responsibility. (Chapters 382, 388–404)

Open Heaven’s Gate

After the rescue, Millie remains Anastasia’s practical counterweight and helps manage the consequences of Lux’s disruptive appearances, including disguising one incident as a military drill. Her later role is quieter but consistent: she guards access to the princess during sensitive political and romantic discussions and opens the door when Anastasia receives visitors. The continued trust placed in her shows that the kidnapping did not end her career; she survives the Abyssal war and remains at Anastasia’s side in the postwar period. (Chapters 734–740, 1227)

Appearance and personality

Millie is a pretty, green-haired Dwarf woman with the trained bearing of a Royal Guard. She is serious, candid, and more practical than the princess she serves, yet her criticism remains subordinate to loyalty. The kidnapping reveals a severe sense of personal accountability, while her willingness to follow Lux’s rescue plan shows that pride does not prevent her from accepting help when Anastasia’s safety requires it. (Chapters 382, 388–390, 404)

Wind abilities

Flight and wind techniques

As a bona fide Ranker, Millie can fly, launch cutting Wind Blades, form a sword from concentrated wind, and create forceful gusts for attack or control. Her flight allows rapid long-distance transport, but carrying Lux at full speed toward a distant teleportation city pushes her toward exhaustion after roughly five hours. Ranker status also does not guarantee victory against peers: Carol’s Dark Magic requires sustained combat and allied assistance, while several hostile Rankers together would exceed what Millie can safely handle alone. (Chapters 389–404)

Relationships

  • Princess Anastasia: Millie is Anastasia’s protector and frank attendant; her guilt after the kidnapping reflects deep loyalty beneath frequent exasperation. (Chapters 382, 388–404, 1227)
  • Lux: She initially doubts him, then trusts his rescue strategy and later helps contain the public disruption surrounding his visits. (Chapters 388–404, 734–740)
  • Carol: The Dark Magic Ranker is Millie’s principal opponent during the rescue and demonstrates the danger of fighting an equal-ranked specialist. (Chapters 396–403)
