Ferron

Ferron is a battle-hardened Dwarf alchemist and the personal bodyguard of the merchant Lucius. First appearing as a medical expert during Lux’s apparent death, he is later revealed as a peak B-Ranker protecting one of Twilight Rain’s undercover leaders.

Biography

Awakening and Leaf Village

When Lux collapses from a poisoned wound in Whitebridge, Ferron identifies himself as medically trained and receives Aina’s permission to examine him. His diagnostic skill recognizes a lethal mixture derived from Jade World Dragon and Hydra blood, but he also recognizes the hard limit of his craft: only untainted dragon blood can reverse it. Ferron admits that he can do nothing more and reports the prognosis to Lucius before Lux’s heart stops. The encounter establishes genuine expertise while placing Ferron within the merchant faction that accepts the assassination as complete. (Chapter 216)

The Dragon kingdoms and the Abyss

Years later, Ferron is Lucius’s brown-haired right-hand man, a peak B-Ranker responsible for security around the Merchant Guild. He detects attacks on their guards, confronts disguised intruders with paired short swords and a prepared barrier, then escorts Lucius through an escape passage when King Leoric’s force proves stronger. Surrounded by Lux’s army, Ferron judges that he could flee alone but refuses to abandon his employer; both activate emergency teleportation artifacts, although random destinations separate them. Ferron escapes alive and is deliberately left free to warn Twilight Rain, making loyalty preserve Lucius briefly while advancing Lux’s larger deception. (Chapters 725, 727–736, 739)

Ferron is a brown-haired Dwarf with a battle-hardened appearance. He wears a noble’s robe during the Whitebridge outbreak and later carries two short swords as Lucius’s guard. Professional calm defines both roles: he gives an unwelcome diagnosis without false hope, organizes protection without panic, and rapidly admits when King Leoric is stronger. His loyalty is practical rather than blind; he flatters Lucius and prepares escape routes, but when isolated he still rejects the easier option of abandoning the employer he has sworn to protect. Diagnostics, drugs, and poisons

Ferron is an alchemist knowledgeable in medicine, drugs, and poisons. His diagnostic skill identifies the rare interaction of Jade World Dragon and Hydra blood inside Lux, distinguishing a substance that normally cures disease from a mixture that becomes lethal. The skill reveals cause and required antidote but cannot manufacture missing material or heal by itself; without untainted dragon blood, Ferron can only declare the case hopeless. His expertise is therefore analytical and alchemical, not an unlimited cure ability. (Chapter 216)

Peak B-Rank protection

At peak B-Rank, Ferron is a Pseudo-High Ranker who fights with paired short swords, notices coordinated infiltrations, and organizes Ranker support. A prepared light barrier is designed to endure three full Dreadnaught strikes, but King Leoric’s second blow shatters it, proving that Ferron’s estimates and defenses can be exceeded. He believes he could escape Lux’s encirclement alone, yet cannot defeat the Wraith King and surrounding army. His emergency teleport moves him about a mile to a random location, saving him at the cost of separation and control. (Chapters 728, 731, 733–736)
