Emperor Andreas
Emperor Andreas is the calculating sovereign of the Vahan Empire, the strongest member of the Skystead Alliance. He pursues dungeon access, territory, and talented outsiders through political leverage rather than personal combat, but his attempt to make Lux indebted to him ultimately helps turn Vahan into a target of Lux’s revenge.
Biography
The Lionheart Tournament and the Hidden Domain
Andreas avoids an open confrontation with Alexander and Maximilian, yet quickly exploits the settlement around Lux’s dungeon rights. He wants Vahan’s share of the Domain of the Fallen and the golden key leading to a Draconic holy city because both promise resources and expansion. During Lux’s Vahan trial, Andreas secretly watches the nobles’ abuse and delays intervening so a late rescue will make the young guildmaster grateful. Vera’s arrival ruins that calculation, exposing the limits of treating Lux’s suffering as political currency. (Chapters 306–307, 344, 346–348)
Open Heaven’s Gate
Andreas continues recruiting useful outsiders and delegates persuasion to his High-Ranker bodyguard Aron, offering Lux money, land, and imperial favor. That opportunism cannot protect Vahan when Lux returns for revenge against those responsible for his mother’s suffering: four Saints are devoured, the palace and coliseum are destroyed, and Andreas collapses when Lux threatens the capital with overwhelming firepower. Lux spares the population but permanently ends the emperor’s grand ambitions. Months after the war, Andreas still rules Vahan, and his third daughter becomes engaged to Nero, but the empire no longer possesses its former supremacy. (Chapters 440, 650–651, 1072–1073, 1229)
Appearance and personality

His expressive habits are clearer: he smiles while evaluating advantages, observes important proceedings from concealment, and maintains a sovereign’s controlled bearing until Lux’s retaliation overwhelms him. Military reach and limits
Vahan begins with two Saints and later belongs to a coalition fielding additional high-ranked forces, but Andreas is not shown personally fighting or receiving a stated combat rank. Saints act for national interests rather than as ordinary attendants, leaving a High-Ranker as his practical bodyguard. When enemies overpower those strategic assets, imperial authority provides no direct defense; Lux’s forces remove Vahan’s Saints and destroy central symbols of rule without requiring Andreas to be defeated in single combat.
