Charles meets Lux in the Order’s hidden Whitebridge headquarters and bluntly warns that Twilight Rain’s Reapers will kill an Apostle who remains exposed. Though initially dismissive, he later supplies the crucial mechanism in Nevreal’s counteroperation: a poison that stops Lux’s heartbeat and mimics death, followed by a prepared antidote administered at the royal agents’ base. The deception lets Lux disappear from Twilight Rain’s attention without becoming undead or truly dying.
