Sir Benjamin Olsen is General Fahad's right-hand man and second-in-command in the Yelan Army. An experienced Spear Master shaped by campaigns against the Vahan Empire, he serves as both battlefield partner and candid adviser while Yelan confronts enemy commanders and a later monster invasion.

Biography

Heaven’s Gate and the continental wars

Fahad introduces Benjamin to Lux before the eastern campaign's decisive fighting, and Benjamin receives the Half-Elf with easy courtesy. When the Yelan force reaches General Phobus, Fahad assigns Benjamin to the enemy commander while he engages Second. Benjamin quickly judges Phobus the weaker Ranker, but the general's defensive artifacts repeatedly absorb lethal thrusts and let him trade injuries for counterattacks, forcing the veteran to adjust his initial confidence (Chapters 451, 464, 466).

After Phobus is paralyzed and removed from the battlefield, Benjamin and Fahad surround Second and offer him a chance to surrender. They then coordinate their attacks when he refuses, withstand his powerful wind blades, and continue pressing even after Phobus disappears. Second ultimately escapes through a life-saving artifact, but Benjamin turns immediately toward helping the Yelan soldiers finish the wider battle, keeping his command responsibilities ahead of personal frustration (Chapters 467, 468, 469, 470).

The victory leaves Benjamin and Fahad aware that the eastern front will remain defensible only while both officers are present. He has prepared a farewell letter to his wife, then keeps it after hearing Lux claims to have an answer. His shift is cautious hope, not denial of the danger, and he remains at Fahad's side for the defense (Chapter 690).

At the city wall, Benjamin tries to ease the soldiers' fear with a joke about using their remaining time to pray. Nobody laughs, but the narration recognizes the intent behind the failed humor. He then supports Fahad's plan to use the city as a shield, protect comrades, and leave higher-ranked monsters to designated fighters, showing that his latest role combines morale, tactical realism, and readiness to face odds he considers nearly hopeless (Chapter 694).
