Qingyu Immortal Mansion
The Qingyu Immortal Mansion is the portable palace that Qin Yu obtains inside the Nine Swords Immortal Mansion. Its true control core is an elemental holy essence bead, not the conspicuous mansion-guarding stele over which the other treasure seekers fight.
History
The false stele and the true core
The palace first appears around a black mansion-guarding stele whose apparent promise of total control provokes the loose immortals and loose devils into fighting. Li'er recognizes the stele as a trap and helps Qin Yu search elsewhere. They find a pearl-sized black pellet—the elemental holy essence—which Ni Yang had forged as the palace's real core. Qin Yu burns away Ni Yang's markings, personalizes the essence by blood, and thereby gains awareness of the mansion's rooms and command of its restrictive spells and formations. Ni Yang's recorded message then confirms that the stele was a decoy and that the mansion belongs to Qin Yu. (Chapters 201–204)
Portable refuge and training residence
Because the personalized core can draw the whole palace into its inner space, Qin Yu carries the mansion as a mobile residence and shelter. The palace is made from an enormous mass of elemental holy ore and retains Ni Yang's defensive formations, although Qin Yu refuses to destroy the structure merely to extract top-grade elemental holy rock from it. He repeatedly brings companions and dependants inside, uses the mansion for secluded cultivation, and can reduce its exterior to a tiny speck; its defensive restrictions also activate during his breakthrough to prevent the released energy from damaging the residence. (Chapters 223, 249, and 349–350)
After Qin Yu gains Jiang Lan's Realm, that spatial divine artifact becomes his safer refuge for emperor-level danger. Enemies continue to assume that any hidden speck and any unexplained disappearance must be the Qingyu Immortal Mansion, but the assumption is often wrong. Emperor Yu and the Mystic Emperor actually fail to break Jiang Lan's Realm, and Qin Yu later escapes the Peng Demon Emperor through the same artifact while his pursuers search fruitlessly for the mansion. The resulting rumor falsely credits Qingyu—and Ni Yang's defensive craftsmanship—with feats demonstrated by Jiang Lan's Realm. (Chapters 352, 399, 411–413, and 423)
Qin Palace
The mansion remains intact after it is superseded as Qin Yu's emergency sanctuary. In the Divine Realm, it is renamed Qin Palace and serves as the Qin clan's large communal residence. Qin Yu later gives his father Qin De responsibility for the mansion, placing its day-to-day custody with the family rather than discarding or destroying it. (Chapters 476–488)
Abilities and properties
- The elemental holy essence is both the control core and the means by which the whole palace can be stored and carried. Blood personalization gives the controller awareness of the interior and command of its restrictive spells and formations. (Chapters 203–204)
- The mansion is constructed from a huge quantity of elemental holy ore. Its stores contain grades of elemental holy rock, but top-grade pieces are scarce; destroying the mansion could yield more, at the cost of the residence and its formations. (Chapter 223)
- It can contract to a minute speck for concealment and transportation, and it can admit multiple residents. Its defensive restrictions can protect the structure from energy released inside it. (Chapters 249 and 349–350)
- Its defenses are strong, but the corpus does not establish that they withstood the combined attacks of Emperor Yu and the Mystic Emperor. That feat belongs to Jiang Lan's Realm, despite the later public rumor. (Chapters 399 and 423)
- A portable mansion does not override the laws governing ascension between realms; residents who have not met the required conditions cannot simply be carried through an ascension inside it. (Chapter 414)
