Man Qian

Man Qian is a Purple-Eyed Ox Demon King, a rare Super Divine Beast of the Beast Clan. He descends as the Demon Realm's emissary for the struggle over Ni Yang's Realm, not as a member of the Dragon Clan, and becomes a frank, dependable friend to Qin Yu and his brothers.

Biography

The Beast Clan emissary

Man Qian first meets Qin Yu, Hou Fei, and Hei Yu while drinking in a Qianlong Continent restaurant. He immediately recognizes Hou Fei as a Fiery-Eyed Aquatic Monkey, takes interest in the unusual brotherhood, and offers the three a way to contact him for help. Soon afterward he reveals his official purpose as the Beast Clan's Demon Realm emissary, using his reputation and strength to secure places in the Ni Yang expedition while competing with the Immortal, Devil, and Dragon Clan representatives. Ni Yang's Realm

Although Man Qian represents an upper-realm faction, he treats Qin Yu as a brother rather than a disposable guide. He supports Qin Yu's rules at the Heaven-Sundering Diagram auction, follows Qin Yu's separate map through the Abyss of Death, and survives the tests of Ni Yang's Realm to place second in the Nine Heavens. That result grants him a divine artifact, but also demonstrates a limit: his outstanding same-level combat power does not let him surpass every trial or take the first-ranked inheritance. A friend in the Demon Realm

After both men return to the Immortal, Devil and Demon Realm, the now level-six Demon King Man Qian welcomes Qin Yu into the Beast Clan's Jade Cloud Star, helps him contact the Ox Demon Emperor, and facilitates his reunion with Hou Fei. Qin Yu in turn trusts Man Qian with Zheng Zhong and four freed demon experts. Man Qian's role has shifted from emissary to host and intermediary, yet the direct loyalty established in the Mortal Realm remains unchanged when Qin Yu departs to search for Hei Yu. Appearance and personality

Man Qian is a massive, dark-skinned man with purple pupils, a broad chest, and a mountain-like presence; as an emissary he wears patterned violet battle armor. His cold stare can be intimidating, but his broad laughter and direct offers of aid inspire trust. He is overbearing in factional contests, straightforward in friendship, and prudent enough to avoid costly battles when negotiation will secure the same result. (Chapters 267–268, 273)

Abilities and cultivation

Purple-Eyed Ox Demon King physique

As a first-level Demon King in the Mortal Realm, Man Qian's Super Divine Beast body gives him combat power above ordinary experts of the same cultivation level; he is assessed as capable of defeating a second-level Golden Sword Immortal. A casual wave injures the twelfth-tribulation loose devil Wu Kongxue despite Wu Kongxue's top-grade weapon. His advantage is not limitless: other emissaries possess dangerous special methods, and Man Qian himself expects injury in a true life-and-death battle, so he often uses pressure rather than reckless force. Purple pupils

Man Qian's purple eyes have both perceptive and coercive applications. A flash from them leaves loose-devil guards dazed and unable to remember his passage, while their long-range sight detects the distant flames of the Abyss of Death before the rest of the expedition can see them. His perception is not infallible: he cannot read the power of Qin Yu's Sword Immortal puppet, Lan Feng, and therefore correctly treats the unknown opponent with caution. (Chapters 268, 273, 285)
