Malla

Biography

Reopened Wanderer and Archreaver

Malla enters Hearthwood as Atilla's younger sister and a Riverweed craftswoman, turning raptor hide into useful sewn and knitted equipment before assisting Theodore Waltz's artificers with armory upgrades. Although rapid training brings her close to Mage Acolyte and she asks to join a war party, Theo gives her a different high-risk responsibility: custody of Dean's Orb in the command center. On his signal she applies Sava Greenstem's potion to the orb, transferring pain to the Shadowblade Beast and enforcing its bargain. She later proves that the support assignment was not cowardice by joining a trusted strike team against the cannons under an invisibility talisman. (Chapters 65–68, 81, 95, 98, 107, 114, 118)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not supply a stable detailed physical portrait for Malla. She is industrious, eager to prove herself in battle, and able to accept a strategically important support role when Theo denies her first request. Her movement from textile work to enchantment and then field action shows adaptability rather than a single narrow trade. (Chapters 95, 98, 107, 114, 118)

Abilities and cultivation

Malla can sew and knit monster materials, assist with enchantment work, and fight with a spear. The Training Grounds accelerate her martial practice, and she describes herself as close to Mage Acolyte, but the corpus does not confirm that she completes the breakthrough. Her use of Dean's Orb depends on Theo's timing and Sava's prepared potion rather than on power she generates alone. (Chapters 95, 98, 107, 114, 118)

Relationships

  • Theodore Waltz: Theo redirects Malla from a war party to the command-center contingency and later trusts her in a strike team. (Chapters 114, 118)
  • Sava Greenstem: Sava prepares the potion Malla applies to Dean's Orb. (Chapter 114)

Items

  • Dean's Orb: Malla holds the orb as a contingency operator and applies Sava's potion on Theo's signal; this is temporary custody and use, not established ownership. (Chapter 114)
