Zeus-1

Zeus-1 is Lan Jue's compact sapphire gunship, built for extreme speed, covert travel, and small-team transport. It serves as his principal spacecraft from expeditions in the Shattered Starfields through humanity's war against the alien planets.

History

Secret voyages and the Shattered Starfields

Zeus-1 begins service under Lan Jue with its power, weapons, and hull at full readiness. Its five engines and customized systems carry his small crew beyond ordinary military tracking and into the Shattered Starfields. Lan Jue channels his Discipline through an A-ranked Core Power Gem fitted to the engines to amplify the ship to light speed, while survey scramblers and an indigo keystone protect the vessel during the jump. Its small crew capacity and lack of a dedicated mecha bay make it a specialist craft rather than a conventional troop carrier. (Chapters 71–76)

Transport, training, and temporary pilots

Lan Jue repeatedly uses Zeus-1 for travel between Skyfire, Lir, and An Lun. Its cockpit is familiar enough for him to control by touch, while the Accountant and Zeus's Amazons also pilot it on his behalf. During the An Lun training expedition, the ship's violent high-speed maneuvers become part of the students' conditioning before it carries them safely through the Starfields. Lan Jue later temporarily lends Zeus-1 to Su Xiaosu when she returns to the Moonfiend remnants, showing that custody can pass to trusted subordinates even though the ship remains his. Covert Star Division operations

After receiving a Blinding Stone, Zeus-1 becomes a reconnaissance and insertion craft for Star Division. It travels beside Majesty without appearing on even sensitive radar, lands first on the Poison Wasp base with a fifty-person advance force, and patrols overhead to stop survivors from warning other pirates. The mission also exposes its scale limitation: Majesty carries the main body because Zeus-1 cannot transport an entire division. (Chapters 535–538)

War against the aliens

Zeus-1 carries Lan Jue and small elite teams during the crises at Lyr, the Northern front, and the counteroffensive. It serves as support near Tyrannosaurus, operates from Middle Heaven, and delivers Vanguard and the Amazons during the incursion against the occupied planets. By the final scouting preparations, Lan Jue deliberately leaves it behind because a spacecraft would compromise a tiny Paragon team's approach to Europa. The ship is not reported destroyed and remains available after its last recorded use. (Chapters 658–669, 733–745, 810–814)

Abilities and properties

• Five engines, an A-ranked Core Power Gem, and Lan Jue's amplified energy let Zeus-1 reach light speed and sustain exceptional sublight acceleration. The most extreme output depends on both the fitted gem and an adequate energy source. (Chapters 72–74)
• Survey scramblers conceal it from radar, while the later Blinding Stone makes the ship undetectable even to highly sensitive sensors. The stone is installed equipment rather than an innate property of the hull. (Chapters 73, 536)
• Its speed and maneuverability protect it from targeting and let it navigate dense asteroid fields, but abrupt maneuvers impose severe physical strain on ordinary passengers. (Chapters 72, 294, 314)
• Zeus-1 is armed as a gunship, with deployable barrels and sufficient firepower for pursuit and support missions. (Chapters 71, 75–76)
• It carries roughly ten people under normal configuration and has no specialized mecha compartment, sharply limiting its usefulness as a mass transport. (Chapter 75)
• It can recharge from cosmic radiation, reducing its dependence on carried power gems during extended operations. (Chapter 538)
