Triton

Triton is Hua Li's sky-blue custom mecha and the signature machine of Poseidon among the Four Divine Monarchs. Its trident-based systems emphasize protection, restraint, and battlefield control, allowing Hua Li to shape an engagement while his allies exploit the openings he creates.

History

Hua Li's signature armor

Triton first appears as Hua Li's personal mecha armor during his visit to the National Eastern University. In a later DreamNet spar, it joins Thor and Cerberus against Coeus. Triton surrounds Coeus with a blue field, probes for the real machine among its phantoms, and combines its attacks with Thor, but its strongest effort, Parting of the Waters, does not prevent Coeus from winning the exercise. These encounters establish Triton as the most defensively oriented of the Monarchs' four machines rather than a pure assault unit. (Chapters 116, 222–224)

The Star Alliance showdown

During the Divine Monarchs' DreamNet contest with the Star Alliance, Hua Li uses Triton as the team's control specialist. The machine approaches under concealment supplied by a separate cloaking gem, raises a blue protective field, and uses wide trident strikes to contain Skyshade. It then synchronizes with Thor closely enough to hide its own attack behind Lan Jue's advance, helping break the opposing formation. The match demonstrates Triton's value in coordinated combat, where shielding, detection, and timed restraint matter as much as direct damage. (Chapters 274–280)

A model for Poseidon's war form

Much later, the Poseidon bastion transforms into a gigantic form modeled on Triton. That construct uses a multi-stage trident whose golden light disintegrates alien forces. The scene shows Triton's enduring place in Hua Li's combat identity, but the giant bastion form is a separate machine patterned after Triton, not evidence that the original mecha itself grew to bastion scale. Abilities and properties

• Triton's specialty is battlefield control and defense, with energy fields that shield the machine and constrain enemy movement. (Chapters 223, 274–278)
• Its trident can release broad probing waves that pass through false images while searching for a real target. (Chapter 223)
• The trident produces sea-blue blades, converging bolts, and enlarged energy projections for ranged pressure and restraint. (Chapters 276–278)
• Parting of the Waters is a large-area attack powerful enough to engulf multiple mechas, but heavy expenditure can leave Triton with diminished reserves and defenses. (Chapter 224)
• Triton excels when coordinating with faster or harder-hitting allies; its restraint attacks can be disrupted or redirected by superior spatial control. (Chapters 277–280)
• The cloaking used in the Star Alliance approach comes from an external cloaking gem shared across the Monarch team, not from an inherent Triton system. (Chapter 276)
