Thor

Thor is the custom mecha identified with Zeus, the mercenary identity of Lan Jue. Its speed, power, and close synchronization with its pilot make it both a famous war machine and a practical extension of Lan Jue’s lightning Discipline.

History

The mecha behind Zeus

Thor first appears carrying Lan Jue from the upper atmosphere into space at extraordinary speed. Its public reputation is already established: Zeus is known as a God-ranked pilot who once defeated thirteen top-grade custom mechas through his Discipline, while Thor is the machine associated with those exploits. The mecha’s navy-blue, gem-like armor can appear purple at sharp angles, and its polished construction makes it resemble a work of art rather than conventional military equipment. In battle it combines extreme acceleration with a spear and electrical attacks powerful enough to paralyze an opposing pilot, though abyssal fire is able to consume its shields and heat its armor. Taihua rescue and public recognition

After suffering substantial damage, Thor is repaired and taken to Taihua. When the planet is overrun, Lan Jue calls it remotely through Thor’s Promise and receives everything its sensors see. He assigns the mecha to watch the disaster zone, protect evacuees, and help cover the rescue rather than using it only as a dueling machine. Survivors later recognize the blue mecha as Thor and connect Zeus with the hero who saved lives on Taihua. Lan Jue eventually demonstrates the machine publicly, confirming the story that had grown around it. (Chapters 114, 121, 136, 465, 482)

Refit for the alien war

Lan Jue later redesigns Thor around new materials and power gems. The refitted machine retains its size but gains royal-blue armor with gold accents and a large sword. Its value becomes especially clear against alien creatures: a light transport cannot fully express Lan Jue’s combat abilities, whereas Thor can channel them directly. Further work gives it a focal pool capable of integrating multiple gems, and the mecha can carry Captus as a weapon. A Blinding Stone and psionic generator are installed for covert operations, although strong emissions from Thor itself can overwhelm the cloak. (Chapters 497–499, 540, 663, 724–725)

Rescue platform and eventual obsolescence

During occupied-planet operations, Thor directs troops, carries allies, scans for survivors, and preserves Lan Jue’s strength during space travel. Its mobility and sensors are often more important than direct attack. That role ends naturally after Lan Jue becomes a Paragon: by Chapter 819, the suit no longer increases his capabilities and instead imposes an unnecessary burden. Thor remains intact, but its long partnership with him has ceased to be tactically essential. (Chapters 740, 759–761, 819)

Abilities and properties

• Thor combines exceptional speed and power with high-end custom armor, shields, a spear, electrical output, and a close response to Lan Jue’s piloting. (Chapters 88–90, 274)
• Thor’s sensors can transmit what it sees to Lan Jue through Thor’s Promise, allowing remote reconnaissance and direction. (Chapter 136)
• Its later focal pool integrates power gems and supports specialized equipment, including a Blinding Stone and psionic generator. (Chapter 724)
• It can carry Captus and, through its growing synchronization with Lan Jue, approach some of the functional qualities of an Astrum. (Chapters 662–663)
• Its defenses are not absolute: abyssal fire damages its shields, its own energy output can reveal it through a cloak, and after Lan Jue reaches Paragon rank the machine restricts more than it assists him. (Chapters 90, 725, 819)
