Lao
Lao, known as the Venom Ice Snake, is a Blood Land ranker assigned to evaluate Yeon-woo and help seize Brahm and Sesha for the Gluttony Emperor.
Biography
An emissary studies Yeon-woo
Lao enters the conflict around Brahm as a smooth-moving Ice Poison user and an apparent Blood Land emissary, although Marquis Caliburn is the mission's true commander. He quietly records Yeon-woo's traits, skills, properties, and artifacts for his superiors while the expedition closes on Brahm. The operation is driven by the Gluttony Emperor's desire for Brahm and the Dragon Human Sesha, so Lao joins the attack as soon as he believes Yeon-woo has been swallowed by a monster. His own danger sense has already failed to anticipate that encounter, leaving his report and his confidence behind the battle's changing reality. (Chapters 194–198)
A false victory ends in the forest
Blood Land later believes that Yeon-woo has died and that its plan can proceed, but the conclusion is part of Yeon-woo's deception. Lao is swept away in the Demons' Forest, and Blood Land's leadership eventually recognizes his loss as the point from which it was being manipulated. The Gluttony Emperor's fixation on dragon flesh remains the reason Lao was sent and becomes one more debt Yeon-woo intends to settle after the operative's death. (Chapters 288, 320)
Appearance and personality
The supplied chapters do not give Lao a distinct physical portrait. His epithet and fighting style instead define his presence: he moves smoothly, attacks with cold poison, and maintains the controlled bearing expected of an experienced ranker. (Chapters 194–196)
Lao is observant, guarded, and obedient to Blood Land's hierarchy. He prefers gathering actionable information over drawing attention to himself, yet becomes eager once he thinks the enemy is helpless. That confidence makes him useful as an operative but also leaves him vulnerable when Yeon-woo controls what he is allowed to perceive. (Chapters 195–198)
Abilities and powers
Ice Poison
Lao combines ice and poison in fluid attacks that support his title of Venom Ice Snake. The technique gives him a dangerous ranged offense, but the expedition offers no evidence that it can overcome the monsters and layered schemes surrounding Brahm's group. (Chapter 194)
Nine Snakes' Eyes
Nine Snakes' Eyes is Lao's danger-detection skill. It normally lets him recognize threats quickly, complementing his work as a spy, but it does not warn him of the Ceratopsian Dinosaur before Yeon-woo reacts. The failure establishes a practical limit: the sense is valuable but neither comprehensive nor fast enough against concealed, rapidly changing danger. (Chapter 196)
