Kaen

Kaen is the leader of the Tutorial team that abandons Yul to the copper scarecrows. He rationalizes the betrayal as necessary for the stronger members' survival, but Yeon-woo forces the group to experience the cost of treating a weaker teammate as expendable.

Biography

A pragmatic betrayal destroys the team

Kaen initially sees Yul as a useful but replaceable teammate whose mana-reading talent contributes too little in direct combat. When the copper scarecrows threaten the group, he accepts using Yul as a distraction and later tries to preserve the relationship only because losing the opportunity now seems costly. Yeon-woo recognizes the betrayal, disarms and punishes the team, leaving Kaen paralyzed from the neck down. Bild's hopes of recruiting the group collapse, and Yul later measures his new teacher favorably against Kaen, showing that the abandoned player—not the leader who sacrificed him—finds a path forward. Appearance and personality

Kaen's detailed appearance is not established. He bites his lip when plans begin failing and becomes desperate enough to scream for his companions to drop their weapons. He is calculating and self-justifying, treating contribution to group strength as the measure of a person's worth, but his composure disappears when Yeon-woo applies consequences to that logic. Abilities and powers

Kaen is considered skilled enough for Bild to view his team as promising Arangdan recruits, but the corpus does not name his individual skills or power source.
