Ione

Ione is the reclusive head of the Elohim's Family of Life, a blind commander whose specialized perception helps lead the assault on Walpurgisnacht.

Biography

A hermit leads Elohim into a false victory

Ione leaves seclusion for the Philosopher's Stone auction, then leads Elohim at the front of the assault on Walpurgisnacht. His alternative sight lets him detect conditions despite being born blind, and the force breaks the witches' layered barrier before he orders their deaths while preserving their archives. The apparent triumph is Yeon-woo's trap: successive disasters destroy Ione's wards and scatter his forces, and Ione dies before the later campaign, leaving Paneth to inherit the Family of Life. Appearance and personality

Ione is a blind man whose eyes glow gold when he uses his supernatural perception. He occupies a VIP seat with the Elohim's senior authorities and later leads from the front rather than remaining a remote observer. (Chapters 223, 230–231)

He is reclusive, arrogant, and openly contemptuous of people outside the Protogenoi hierarchy. Ione regards the witches as corrupt and orders their extermination, yet wants their useful knowledge preserved. When the trap reverses the battle, he assumes only another great clan could have harmed Elohim, showing how pride narrows his analysis. (Chapters 223, 230–235)

Alternative sight and warding

Although born blind, Ione uses a golden supernatural perception that allows him to lead skilled Protogenoi and detect the condition of a magical battlefield. He also plants wards around his forces. These senses are powerful but not omniscient: Yeon-woo's indirect manipulation escapes his attribution, and the later blast uproots the wards and leaves Ione unable to stabilize his troops. Elohim command

Ione commands a force capable of breaking a nine-layer barrier and advancing at extreme speed. The achievement is collective, relying on Elohim soldiers and the pressure placed on Walpurgisnacht by multiple factions. His death ends his personal command rather than the Family of Life, which continues under Paneth; the chapters do not show his specific sensory power transferring to her. (Chapters 230–235, 301–305)
