Restriction Flag

The Restriction Flag is Wang Lin's long-refined black flag, a mobile vessel for the restrictions he learns after passing the restriction-mountain trial in Ancient God Tu Si's body.

History

Inheritance and refinement

Tu Si's avatar gives Wang Lin the method for creating the flag after Wang Lin masters the restriction mountain. The design requires an ink stone from the ancient god's sea of consciousness and can accept restrictions built for attack, defense, or confinement. Wang Lin secures the ink stones, gathers the remaining materials in the Sea of Devils, and begins refining the flag. Its creation draws divine retribution. (Chapters 182, 199, and 204–207)

A growing arsenal of restrictions

Wang Lin repeatedly expands and repairs the flag as his understanding grows. It can release black fog, conceal territory, trap cultivators, reinforce formations, and turn its stored restrictions into coordinated attacks. After centuries of refinement, the flag reaches 999 sets of attack restrictions, though Wang Lin recognizes that its strength is beginning to lag behind his cultivation. Sacrifice at the Moongazer Serpent

When the Moongazer Serpent's tentacles threaten Wang Lin's escape, he orders the flag to collapse. Its accumulated restrictions fuse into a black meteor, and the rudimentary spirit born from centuries beside him extinguishes itself in the resulting attack. (Chapter 714)

Abilities and properties

• Stores and deploys large numbers of restrictions as fog, barriers, traps, formations, or direct attacks. (Chapters 208, 210, and 522)
• Its effect depends on the kinds and number of restrictions engraved into it; Wang Lin develops it chiefly along an offensive path. (Chapters 206 and 555)
• Can reinforce an existing formation and protect a wide area even while Wang Lin is absent. (Chapters 527 and 532)
• Develops a trace of intelligence after more than nine centuries of refinement. (Chapter 714)
