Heaven Defying Bead

The Heaven Defying Bead is a white bead bound closely to Wang Lin that repeatedly protects, guides, and conceals him while attracting powerful pursuers.

History

Cultivation and early responses

Wang Lin releases the bead to interact with a Burning Gold Fruit vine. Much later it trembles and sends a sliver of mysterious power into him, briefly turning his eyes blue. (Chapters 129 and 942)

The struggle over the Sealed Realm

Outer-realm powers identify the bead as a former treasure of the Lord of the Sealed Realm and debate whether Wang Lin is connected to that former master. The bead also shelters him for ten years while Li Qianmei's blood light sustains him. (Chapters 1197, 1227, 1276, and 1295)

Fusion and concealment

The bead eventually fuses with Wang Lin's soul. When the Celestial Ancestor's shadow examines his memories, it surrounds him with gentle light and fabricates false memories; at the story's end it appears again as a white bead among three rays of light. (Chapters 1893, 1955, and 2088)

Abilities and properties

• Releases mysterious power that can alert or assist Wang Lin. (Chapters 942 and 1683)
• Contains an internal space with a majestic door and can shelter a person for years. (Chapters 1295 and 1723)
• Protects Wang Lin's secrets by altering memories shown to an intruding observer. (Chapter 1955)
