Ye Wuyou
Ye Wuyou is the first-generation Suzaku, the cultivator who raises his homeland from a rank-four cultivation country to rank six, receives planet Suzaku from the Cultivation Alliance, and establishes the line of rulers that follows him. Most of his life is reconstructed through Situ Nan's memories and the inheritances Ye leaves behind. (Chapters 424 and 439–464)
Biography
Rise from a minor sect
Ye Wuyou begins as a lowly disciple in a rank-four cultivation country. He rises to sect master, unites the country's sects under his leadership, and—with immense will and long effort—raises the country first to rank five and then to rank six. Along the way he saves Situ Nan from a Soul Formation pursuer, later invites him into the Celestial Realm, and turns their friendship into a partnership that reshapes their homeland. (Chapters 439 and 464)
Founding planet Suzaku
After Ye Wuyou and Situ Nan reach Ascendant, the Cultivation Alliance grants them a planet. Ye goes to the Alliance as the representative of the newly ranked country and receives the Suzaku Seal. Under his leadership, migrants gather on the planet and war against the native Forsaken Immortal Clan. He also receives the displaced Giant Demon Clan with hospitality and grants it distant, safer land, earning Lei Ji's enduring loyalty. (Chapters 440, 464, and 913)
Sacrifice and succession
The war devastates the planet. Ye Wuyou ultimately sacrifices himself with other experts to seal the Forsaken Immortal Clan. Even in death he arranges succession: Situ Nan, who would have preferred to leave, becomes the second-generation Suzaku and continues guarding the planet for him. Situ Nan remembers Ye as an elder-brother and teacher figure whose pride never disappeared, even at death. (Chapter 439)
Legacy in the Suzaku tomb
Only later Suzakus know Ye Wuyou's true name. His preserved body sits with the Cultivation Planet Crystal in the Suzaku tomb until the tower cracks and the body turns to dust, revealing the crystal. His records also warn that a hidden Cultivation Alliance messenger always watches planet Suzaku. Beyond rulership, his incomplete celestial spell becomes the basis from which Situ Nan derives three killing spells, extending Ye's influence into Wang Lin's cultivation. (Chapters 424, 463, 467, and 485)
Appearance and personality
In the inherited memory, Ye Wuyou appears as a middle-aged man. Situ Nan chiefly remembers the pride in his expression: the unwavering confidence of someone who could turn an obscure rank-four country into a power recognized by the Alliance. He is ambitious, persuasive, and institution-minded, but also generous toward people who earn his regard, including Situ Nan and the displaced Giant Demon Clan. (Chapters 439, 464, and 913)
Abilities and cultivation
- Titled Ascendant cultivation: Ye Wuyou reaches Ascendant and becomes a Titled Ascendant through authority over the Suzaku Seal and Cultivation Planet Crystal. (Chapters 439–440)
- Suzaku Seal: A low-quality Alliance technique whose use consumes lifespan. Combined with the Cultivation Planet Crystal, it increases the title-holder's strength and compatibility with the planet's authority. (Chapter 440)
- Suzaku Tactic: Ye Wuyou derives this cultivation method from the Suzaku Seal. It accelerates cultivation and helps later Suzakus synchronize with the Cultivation Planet Crystal. (Chapter 440)
- Celestial spell inheritance: He possesses an incomplete low-quality celestial spell. Situ Nan cannot reproduce it directly but derives three demonic killing spells from years of study. (Chapter 485)
- Leadership and state-building: His most consequential achievement is organizational: uniting sects, advancing a cultivation country's rank twice, and founding a durable planetary rulership. (Chapters 439 and 913)
Relationships
- Situ Nan: Friend, brother-like disciple, partner, and successor. Ye saves him, cultivates and travels with him, and ultimately leaves him responsible for planet Suzaku. (Chapters 439–440 and 473–476)
- Lei Ji: Giant Demon Clan refugee welcomed by Ye Wuyou and granted land. Lei Ji repays the kindness by fighting the Forsaken Immortal Clan. (Chapter 913)
- Later Suzakus: Political and cultivation descendants who inherit his title, tactics, records, and the guarded secret of his true name. (Chapters 424, 440, and 467)
Items
- Suzaku Seal: Cultivation Alliance title technique and symbol of Suzaku authority. (Chapters 440 and 464)
- Cultivation Planet Crystal: Planetary control crystal preserved with Ye Wuyou's body and exposed when that body turns to dust. (Chapters 462–464)
- Incomplete celestial spell: Source material from which Situ Nan derives his three killing spells. (Chapter 485)
