Yao Changdong is an early Nirvana Scryer member of the Yao family's third generation. He pursues Wang Lin's Xu Mu identity under the family's Heaven Order, hoping to secure the merit before Yao Bingyun arrives. Superior cultivation and inherited celestial arts nearly win the battle, but his sheltered experience leaves his Glory dao vulnerable when Wang Lin forces a direct contest of domains. Biography

Pursuit under the Heaven Order

Yao Changdong arrives after hired cultivators intercept Xu Mu and immediately regards the encounter as a chance for family merit. He expects a Corporeal Yang opponent to beg and tries to finish the fight before Yao Bingyun can claim the credit. Wang Lin instead uses Spatial Bending, Ta Shan, the Celestial Sealing Stamp, and repeated Heavenly Chops to deny him the initiative. (Chapters 823–824)

Yao's nineteen-sword array resists the combined assault, and a celestial core supplied by his ancestor absorbs the remaining damage. Forced into disarray but physically unhurt, he begins using inherited celestial spells: spatial collapses, nineteen infant souls, Cloud Calamity, and Blood Soul. He also crushes the celestial core to disturb origin energy and force Wang out of Spatial Bending. (Chapters 824–825)

Sealing Wang Lin

When ordinary spells fail, Yao activates an Emperor Celestial Talisman. Even after a matching talisman partially cancels it, a fragment seals Wang Lin's origin energy and origin soul. A second talisman covers Yao in protective tattoos so that he can advance through the seven-colored butterfly's attacks. For the first time, he is close to a decisive physical strike. (Chapter 825)

Battle of dao and death

Unable to use origin energy, Wang Lin invokes karma as dao rather than as a normal spell. Yao answers with his family's Glory domain, manifesting a celestial ancestor sustained by reverence. Wang attacks the belief's foundation: the Celestial Realm's destruction becomes the karmic result of the ancestors' supposed glory. Yao cannot refute the argument, his confidence wavers, and the celestial shadow collapses. (Chapter 826)

With the domain broken, the remaining seal on Wang also fails. The seven-colored butterfly flaps again and erases Yao Changdong's body and bag of holding. Wang later acknowledges that the fight was extremely dangerous and that Yao's cultivation advantage was real; the decisive weakness was an unstable dao heart shaped by insufficient hardship, not lack of inherited power. Appearance and personality

Yao Changdong is a young man in white who stands on a giant sword. He begins elegant, proud, and contemptuous, then becomes disheveled and dressed in tatters under Wang's opening pressure. His upbringing has given him strong inherited arts but also arrogance and limited adversity; once the abstract Glory at the center of his dao is challenged, doubt destabilizes him more effectively than physical attacks did. Abilities and cultivation

  • Early-stage Nirvana Scryer: Yao's origin energy, durability, and spell inheritance place him decisively above Wang Lin's Corporeal Yang cultivation. A coordinated assault capable of killing a Corporeal Yang cultivator leaves him uninjured once the ancestral core activates. (Chapters 824–825)
  • Nineteen-sword array: His thirty-foot flying sword splits into nineteen blades that rotate into an origin-energy storm. The array twists the surrounding energy, forces Wang out of close-range Spatial Bending, and resists Ta Shan, the Celestial Sealing Stamp, and Heavenly Chop until the ancestral core takes over defense.   • Void Collapse and Imagine Collapse: Hand seals make space around a moving target collapse in succession, forcing continuous evasion. The exact distinction between the two named stages is not explained beyond their escalating spatial destruction. (Chapter 825)
  • Nineteen Souls: Yao exhales nineteen black infant souls that combine into a giant infant manifestation. The Withered Dao Pair petrifies and breaks the construct, but Yao emerges unharmed. (Chapter 825)
  • Cloud Calamity: Clouds and lightning form a comprehensive shield. Wang Lin's Call the Wind disperses it, showing that the defense can be overwhelmed by a stronger celestial spell. (Chapter 825)
  • Blood Soul, six cycles: Essence blood forms a scarlet vortex capable of cancelling Call the Wind. Yao can perform six of the technique's theoretical nineteen cycles, and even that consumes most of his origin energy. (Chapter 825)
  • Glory domain: Yao manifests a celestial ancestor through reverence for the Yao family's past. The domain is powerful enough to enter a direct dao contest but depends on his unquestioned belief; Wang's karmic interpretation introduces doubt and causes the manifestation to collapse. (Chapter 826)
  • Inherited talisman arts: One Emperor Celestial Talisman seals Wang's origin soul and energy, while another creates sacrificial protective tattoos around Yao. The butterfly destroys those tattoos layer by layer, so they buy time rather than grant permanent immunity. (Chapter 825)

  • Ta Shan: Ta Shan fights as Wang Lin's celestial guard, helping pin Yao inside the sealing assault. Yao's defensive eruption crushes Ta Shan's fist and throws him away. (Chapters 824–825)
  • Wang Lin: Yao hunts Wang for family merit and nearly kills him after sealing his cultivation. Wang breaks Yao's Glory dao with karma, and the butterfly then erases him. (Chapters 823–827)
