Xu Decai

Xu Decai is a famous early-stage Void Tribulant rogue cultivator from the Green Devil Continent. Seven opened spell veins let him cast millions of seals quickly enough to bury equal-ranked enemies under uninterrupted techniques, but Wang Lin isolates him inside the Space Stone, denies him time to cast, and kills him to obtain the Rapid Spell Art. Biography

A mercenary at his cultivation limit

Xu Decai has reached the apparent limit of his cultivation when the Dao Devil Sect hires him for the Green Devil invasion. He accepts because the promised reward—one thousand years inside a Heavenly Pit filled with devilish energy—offers a rare chance to advance. Liu Zhiyuan's death makes him cautious, but the reward for killing Wang Lin also excites him despite there being no personal feud. (Chapter 1862)

When Wang attacks his patrol, Xu sends a skull-flower signal and immediately begins a torrent of spells. Lions, mud giants, an incense-borne whale, poisonous pythons, an animated painting, a summoned beast, liquid grass, and cloud palms arrive so quickly that Wang has almost no opportunity to retaliate. Xu seriously wounds him and forces a retreat, but Wang's Nether Beast devours Xu's Heavenly Dao whale, injuring Xu's origin soul and turning profit-driven pursuit into personal hatred. Isolation and death

Wang uses the Space Stone as a hidden battlefield and lures the weakened Xu inside by feigning flight. There Wang gains the first casting advantage and chains essence attacks, Stop, restrictions, dao souls, puppets, and treasures together. Xu's protective lantern lets him survive repeated rounds that should have killed him, but each interruption prevents the Rapid Spell Art from rebuilding its momentum. (Chapters 1865–1866)

Yi Si destroys Xu's body, the mosquito king wounds his escaping origin soul, and Wang uses the blood sword to sever the lantern's protection. Wang takes Xu's head as proof, searches the captured origin soul for the Rapid Spell Art, and leaves it on the edge of dissolution. Xu's resentment spontaneously changes the remnant into a rare ghost soul; it briefly stuns Wang but is recaptured and later displayed to prove the kill. (Chapters 1866–1867 and 1873–1874)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no stable physical portrait. Xu is cautious when the danger is abstract but becomes proud once his spell barrage takes control. He is openly mercenary, willing to kill a stranger for cultivation access, and intensely possessive of his Heavenly Dao; losing it pushes him into a revenge pursuit that makes Wang's trap effective. Abilities and cultivation

• Early-stage Void Tribulant: Xu's realm and casting advantage make him stronger than ordinary peers, yet he believes he has reached a permanent ceiling. Severing his Heavenly Dao weakens his origin soul, and isolation prevents allied Void Tribulant cultivators from relieving him. (Chapters 1862–1866)
• Rapid Spell Art: A meteorite engraving found early in Xu's life teaches him to seal origin souls into rotating internal vortices called spell veins. Each opened vein accelerates spell formation; Xu has opened seven of the possible nine and can produce millions of seals during a few hand movements. The art's strength is cumulative pressure, while its central weakness is interruption: once Wang casts slightly faster and keeps stopping him, Xu cannot regain initiative. (Chapters 1862–1867)
• Multi-spell bombardment: Rapid casting lets Xu maintain many unrelated constructs at once, making one cultivator feel like several attackers. Demonstrated effects include earth entrapment, poison, impact, mental disturbance, summoned creatures, and repeated devouring by a Heavenly Dao whale. Most individual spells receive no origin explanation; their importance lies in overlapping before a target can recover. (Chapters 1862–1863)
• Heavenly Dao whale: Incense smoke forms a whale-like Heavenly Dao that devours a target together with surrounding spells. Xu believes three devourings will seriously injure any equal-ranked cultivator. Wang's Nether Beast instead consumes the whale, permanently severing their connection and injuring Xu. (Chapter 1863)
• Protective lantern: The lantern's flame surrounds Xu with soft light and prevents his origin soul from dying while it remains lit. It also nourishes the soul over time, but has no offensive function. Wang must cut the connection and extinguish the flame before securing the origin soul. (Chapters 1866–1867)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Xu accepts a reward to kill Wang, dominates their first exchange, then is lured into a prepared battlefield and killed. Wang inherits his casting method and uses it publicly soon afterward. (Chapters 1862–1867 and 1873–1874)
