Xiang Yundong is the Xiang family elder who escorts Wang Lin to planet Dong Lin after Wang Lin claims the family's promised reward. He presents the ancestral Qi Xi spell as a chance to revive Li Muwan, but knowingly leads Wang Lin into a process that consumes almost all his vitality and later helps prepare the family for Wang Lin's return. Biography

Escort to planet Dong Lin

After the celestial-title competition, Xiang Yundong removes Wang Lin from the first wave of the star-system war and guides him and Qing Shui toward the moving planet Dong Lin. He warns Wang Lin that the ancestor may refuse the request and asks whether the attempt is worth the risk, but does not explain the full cost. Using a red jade and a transfer array formed from one of Dong Lin's orbiting planets, he takes them into the Xiang family's forbidden western graveyard. (Chapter 883)

There Xiang Yundong petitions the ancient ancestor to honor the family's promise and use the Qi Xi spell on Li Muwan's nascent soul. He estimates only an even chance that the reclusive ancestor will agree and waits above when Wang Lin is ordered into the gully alone. Qing Shui's threat to drown the Xiang family in blood if Wang Lin is harmed leaves Xiang Yundong able only to respond with a strained smile. (Chapter 884)

The vitality scheme

The Qi Xi spell transfers Wang Lin's life force to Li Muwan at an exponentially increasing cost, but fails to wake her before his vitality is exhausted. When Wang Lin emerges aged and depleted, Xiang Yundong appears unsurprised. After Wang Lin leaves, he admits to himself that he schemed against him, while arguing that he did not conceal the need for great vitality and that neither side now owes the other. (Chapter 885)

Years later, Xiang Yundong is among the Allheaven cultivators sheltering with Master Lu Fu when Wang Lin's thunderous origin soul shakes the region. The pressure cracks Xiang Yundong's dao heart and makes him fear revenge for the stolen vitality. He rushes home with Master Lu Fu's warning that even the third-step master is not confident of victory. (Chapter 1479)

The Xiang family activates the Dong Ling Blood Order and gathers its formations and ancient cultivators. Xiang Yundong's warning prompts the mobilization, though the ancestor dismisses it. When Wang Lin arrives and destroys another family with a single punch, Xiang Yundong watches in bitterness and recognizes that the Xiang defenses cannot meaningfully resist him. (Chapters 1482–1485)

Appearance and personality

Xiang Yundong is an old man whose demeanor shifts with the power before him. He is respectful and cautious around his ancestor, guarded with Wang Lin, and visibly uneasy under Qing Shui's threat. He rationalizes the vitality scheme as a fair exchange, but Wang Lin's later strength exposes how much that judgment depended on believing the victim could never retaliate.   • High-level cultivation and speed: Xiang Yundong's cultivation is described as powerful, allowing him to cross the Allheaven domains rapidly and move by cloud.
