Wang Qingyue

Wang Qingyue is a messenger sent by the Yin and Yang Sect of a rank-four cultivation country. Duanmu Ji recruits him for an expedition into the Land of the Ancient God because his Five Element Escape Technique can bypass the elemental environments of the first trial. (Chapters 166, 168, and 183)

Biography

Joining the expedition

Wang Qingyue travels as Duanmu Ji's peer and is introduced as a cultivator whose strength Wang Lin cannot see through. The promise of top-quality spirit stones, ancient techniques, and a Soul Transformation Pill draws his interest, though he waits to inspect Duanmu's evidence before fully committing. (Chapters 166 and 183)

At the Chaotic Broken Stars, Wang Qingyue eagerly enters the rock field and fights an avatar one cultivation level stronger than himself. He is repeatedly driven back and placed in danger, yet continues with increasing bloodlust until the expedition's transfer formation opens. The scene shows both his appetite for combat and the limit of his strength against the trial's superior duplicate. (Chapters 167–168)

Land of the Ancient God

During the approach, Wang Qingyue uses the Five Element Escape Technique to pass through stone obstacles and contributes a five-element formation against a desolate beast. After the party is scattered, he and Duanmu Ji cross the first trial quickly by relying on that escape art and reach the third trial ahead of the others. Without Wang Lin's soul-attacking method, however, they become trapped among the wandering souls. (Chapters 168–169 and 183)

A transformed Hunchback Meng tears open a rift and captures both Wang Qingyue and Duanmu Ji before either can resist. Wang Qingyue is later visible among the many demonic cultivators seated in the Blood Sea. The corpus does not clarify whether he retains independent will or what happens to him afterward. (Chapters 184 and 193)

Appearance and personality

Wang Qingyue appears as a gray-robed scholar. He usually maintains a calm or cool expression, but rare treasures awaken visible greed, and combat with his superior avatar draws out a cruel smile and growing bloodlust. He is cautious enough to verify Duanmu Ji's evidence before joining the expedition, even though danger excites him once the journey begins. (Chapters 166–168 and 183)

Abilities and cultivation

• High-level cultivation: Wang Lin cannot see through his realm, and Duanmu Ji warns that his cultivation is terrifying. He moves and speaks as a peer of the expedition's old monsters, but the cited chapters do not assign him an exact stage. (Chapter 166)
• Five Element Escape Technique: Wang Qingyue can phase through elemental matter and adapt to metal, wood, water, fire, and earth environments. It lets him pass directly through stone pillars and allows him and Duanmu Ji to clear the elemental first trial calmly. The technique does not solve the soul-based dangers of the third trial. (Chapters 168, 172, and 183)
• Five-element formation: By forming seals, he manifests the ancient characters for metal, wood, water, fire, and earth and combines them into a formation that strikes a desolate beast. The beast survives the party's assault, so this is a strong contribution rather than a decisive kill. (Chapter 169)
• Speed and movement: His escape technique makes him the fastest member of the party during the flight across the moving stone pillars. (Chapter 168)
