Tang Yanfeng

Tang Yanfeng is a prominent Southern Domain cultivator known with Shengong Hu and Zhan Konglie as one of the Three Calamities. His contempt for Shengong Hu's devotion to “Xu Mu” becomes fear when he witnesses Wang Lin's true power, but that warning does not stop him from attacking at the Southern Domain qualification gathering. (Chapters 736–861)

Biography

Mocking Shengong Hu

Tang Yanfeng first belongs to the circle of Allheaven cultivators who ridicule Shengong Hu for accepting punishment and isolation over his devotion to a mysterious senior. When Wang Lin displays layer after layer of powerful spells, Tang's gloom gives way to a deathly pale fear. Shengong Hu explicitly identifies Wang as the reason for his behavior, leaving Tang unable to speak after realizing how badly he misjudged both men. (Chapters 736 and 776–790)

Southern Domain contender

Despite that earlier shock, Tang Yanfeng remains famous enough to sit among the leading candidates at the Southern Domain gathering. He, Shengong Hu, and Zhan Konglie are collectively called the Three Calamities. When Wang Lin's battle intent reaches the gathering, Tang answers with dense killing intent rather than recognition or submission, launching himself toward the source. (Chapters 859–860)

Defeat and death

Tang draws a red sword, cycles origin energy, and surrounds himself with scarlet lotus spells. Wang Lin's Heavenly Chop shatters the sword; a two-finger strike breaks through every lotus, injures Tang's origin soul, and throws him unconscious. The gulf is explicit: Tang is at peak Corporeal Yang, while Wang has reached early Nirvana Scryer and could have killed him immediately. When a Tang family elder carries him away while retaining killing intent, Wang detonates a force hidden in Tang's body. Both body and origin soul explode, leaving no possibility of recovery or competing for the celestial title. (Chapters 860–861)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no detailed physical portrait beyond his presence among elite Southern Domain cultivators. Tang is proud, combative, and sensitive to status. He can recognize overwhelming power when observing it from afar, but at the qualification gathering he lets killing intent and reputation override that lesson. His direct charge contrasts with Shengong Hu's reverence and turns a survivable defeat into death once his family continues the hostility. (Chapters 790 and 859–861)

Abilities and cultivation

  • Peak Corporeal Yang cultivation: Tang's realm is stated during his defeat. Against early Nirvana Scryer Wang Lin, the difference is so large that repelling him requires almost no effort. (Chapter 860)
  • Battle intent and killing intent: He projects dense killing intent that fuses with the battle intents of other cultivators into a storm opposing Wang Lin's pressure. (Chapter 860)
  • Scarlet lotus spells: Cycling origin energy forms multiple scarlet lotuses around him and sends them forward with his sword attack. Wang Lin's two-finger strike breaks through all of them in a single exchange. (Chapter 860)
  • Red sword: A sword emitting powerful sword energy, destroyed immediately when it collides with Heavenly Chop. (Chapter 860)

Relationships

  • Wang Lin: The senior whose power first terrifies Tang and later defeats and kills him after the Tang family preserves its hostility. (Chapters 790 and 860–861)
  • Shengong Hu: Fellow Southern Domain calamity whom Tang mocks for following Wang Lin; Shengong later confronts him with proof that his devotion was justified. (Chapters 790 and 859–860)
  • Zhan Konglie: Third member of the Southern Domain trio; their battle intents join when Wang approaches the gathering. (Chapters 859–860)
  • Tang family elder: Tries to carry the unconscious Tang away, but cannot detect or stop Wang Lin's hidden force before it detonates. (Chapter 861)

Items

  • Red sword: Tang's primary visible weapon at the qualification gathering; it shatters under Wang Lin's Heavenly Chop. (Chapter 860)
