Sun Qiming

Sun Qiming is a late-stage Soul Transformation member of the Sun family who manages one of its major cities. His careful handling of Wang Lin's disguised Xu Mu identity helps protect the family from a disastrous conflict and contributes to his promotion first to vice family head and then designated successor. Biography

Receiving Xu Mu

After the Sun ancestor orders payment to Wang Lin, Sun Qiming personally delivers two hundred thousand celestial jades. He lowers his displayed cultivation to Core Formation before entering, introduces himself respectfully, and promises that the prior incident has been suppressed. He also offers better seclusion quarters and informs Wang about the Whole Treasure Pavilion auction. (Chapter 666)

The questioning around Wang's name and background is a deliberate probe on behalf of the family. Wang sees through it, while ancestor Sun Xi ultimately decides that Xu Mu should be befriended rather than antagonized. At the auction, Sun Qiming personally escorts Wang and Sun Xi to the best fourth-floor room and remains ready to carry out the ancestor's orders. (Chapters 668–669)

Promotion and Vast Water City

Decades later, Sun Qiming's cultivation has reached late Soul Transformation. His connection to the Xu Mu incident raises his family standing: Sun Xi makes him vice family head and selects him as the next family head. (Chapter 695)

When a branch family clashes with the mortal household of Wang Lin and Wang Ping, Sun Qiming arrives to investigate. He rebukes the branch members for relying arrogantly on family protection and warns that such conduct can create a fatal enemy. After recognizing Wang Lin's Ascendant aura, he withdraws everyone immediately, forbids all Sun members from approaching within one thousand feet, and threatens disobedient members with destroyed cultivation and expulsion. (Chapter 696)

Sun Qiming is last seen among the family's late Soul Transformation cultivators when a Thunder Celestial Temple emissary descends on Planet Ran Yun. His later fate is not recorded. (Chapter 700)

Appearance and personality

Sun Qiming is an old man who initially wears black. He is deferential toward cultivators above him but authoritative with family subordinates. His early attempt to investigate Wang's identity shows political caution; his later response in Vast Water City shows that he has learned the more important lesson of stopping reckless juniors before pride creates a conflict the family cannot survive. Abilities and cultivation

• Late-stage Soul Transformation: By Chapter 695, Sun Qiming has reached the late Soul Transformation stage. He states that he can break an ordinary core with a gaze, but recognizes that Wang Lin's effortless suppression of several Nascent Soul cultivators is beyond his own level. (Chapters 695–696)
• Divine sense: He scans Vast Water City and the Wang mansion without discovering anything unusual because Wang Lin conceals himself. The failed detection demonstrates respectable range but also the limit imposed by an Ascendant expert's concealment. (Chapter 696)
• Rapid group withdrawal: After recognizing Wang's aura, Sun Qiming grabs the offending elder, waves his sleeve, and transports the gathered family members back to the branch hall. The scene establishes high-speed movement and control over weaker companions but does not name a unique teleportation art. (Chapter 696)
• Administration and threat assessment: He controls city operations, suppresses information, coordinates auction access, and issues binding family prohibitions. His most consequential skill is recognizing when diplomacy and retreat protect the clan better than a display of force. (Chapters 666–668 and 695–696)
