Biography

First among the demon generals

Mo Fei holds a city beside the Fire Demon Country and enters the competition as the demon general widely expected to rank first. Before it begins, he challenges Mo Lihai to a private battle with withdrawal as the stake. His eighteen-layer Great Rotating Disk reflects Mo Lihai's Hundred Wave Demon Sea and survives Burning Demon after seventeen layers are broken, forcing Mo Lihai to concede and entrust his prospects to Wang Lin. (Chapters 568 and 579–582)

The challenge also demonstrates Mo Fei's confidence in controlling the field before a public contest. He arrives with two Da Lou Sword Sect cultivators as helpers and watches the other competitors without wasteful displays. His reputation is not empty: other demon generals treat him as the measure of the tier, and observers believe even an Ascendant cultivator would need the mid stage to match him. The demon drum

Mo Fei reaches six rings of the demon drum without injury. The seventh destroys his armor and forces him back; for the eighth, he surrounds himself with crystal mirrors that absorb part of the rebound, though the remaining force still drives him a thousand feet and leaves him pale. He stops rather than chase a fatal ninth ring. The result confirms both unusual physical and cultivation strength and the judgment to preserve himself after the trial exposes a real limit. Wang Lin later exceeds that result and begins comprehending the drum's defying aura. Mo Fei recognizes the nature of the experience, suggesting he also sensed the aura during his own attempt, but he does not match Wang's integration with it. He remains emotionally untouched by the later drumbeat that draws sorrow from nearly everyone else and alludes to an unnamed person from the past, deepening the uncertainty around his identity. Promotion and the Fire Demon campaign

Mo Fei's military record and contest performance earn promotion to vice commander-in-chief. He rides with the left army during the invasion of the Fire Demon Country. Wang Lin arrives under the Demon Emperor's authority and announces an order to capture and kill Mo Fei, but the immediate target is the Da Lou Sword Sect cultivator standing behind him. Mo Fei raises demonic spiritual energy in alarm while Wang kills that helper; the corpus does not show Mo Fei being killed or arrested afterward. (Chapters 613–615)

Wang identifies Mo Fei's face as exactly matching a black-haired prisoner seen deep in Hong Prison. The narrative emphasizes the duplicate but never explains whether they are separate bodies, projections, or another connection. Mo Fei's true identity must therefore remain unresolved rather than silently merged with the prisoner. (Chapters 575, 589, 613, and 617)

Appearance and personality

Mo Fei is a handsome young man with long black hair and a resolute face. During the competition he wears armor and a hideous mask, both of which shatter under the demon drum's backlash. His dominant manner is calm to the point of indifference: he rarely reacts to provocation or emotion, studies worthy opponents closely, and retreats only when a test has demonstrated its limit. Abilities and cultivation

  • Demon-general cultivation: Mo Fei is ranked first among the demon generals before promotion and is assessed as the strongest cultivator below Ascendant.
