Ming Hai

Ming Hai is the realm spirit guarding one of the ninety-nine realms inside Celestial Emperor Qing Lin's Bottle World. Once a celestial servant entrusted with the sword Fang Zhu and the spell Burn the Heavens, he becomes devil-corrupted through his own greed and calls himself the Fallen Water Scattered Devil. Wang Lin's battle with him severs the devilish influence long enough for Ming Hai to recognize his betrayal before his own flames reduce him to ash. (Chapters 1016–1019)

Biography

Guardian of the black-sand realm

Ming Hai appears atop a black tower after Wang Lin destroys the sand puppets and devil-corrupted guards outside it. He introduces himself as the Fallen Water Scattered Devil and says that defeating him offers a chance to obtain Qing Lin's Mountain and River Painting, Lonely Desert Smoke. His grey armor conceals his face, and Wang Lin senses both devilish and celestial spiritual energy in him, with overall power no weaker than a Nirvana Cleanser cultivator. (Chapters 1016–1017)

Ming Hai attacks with space-cutting black smoke, control over the black desert, and Fang Zhu, a spirit sword given to him by the Celestial Emperor. When Wang Lin's Merit Spirit spell pushes back the weapon, Ming Hai answers rather than ending the test: he explains that they are inside the first layer of Qing Lin's cave, a treasure called the Bottle World, whose ninety-nine realms separately confine Wang Lin's companions. He identifies himself as its realm spirit and says the Lonely Desert Smoke painting is sealed somewhere inside. (Chapters 1017–1018)

Burn the Heavens and recovered loyalty

Ming Hai invokes Qing Lin's Burn the Heavens spell, turning the sky into nine-colored flame and melting the black desert into liquid. The spell shatters Wang Lin's Merit Spirit formation, drains his origin energy, and nearly overwhelms him. Wang Lin eventually forces a seven-colored butterfly's sealing storm through the wound at Ming Hai's right eyebrow, surrounding a black fragment embedded there and cutting off the flow of devilish energy. (Chapters 1018–1019)

For a moment Ming Hai awakens from the corruption. He calls himself disloyal to the Celestial Emperor, admits that his own greed led him to become a devil, and accepts that he deserves death. The still-raging flames from Burn the Heavens engulf him and leave only ash. Wang Lin later absorbs and transforms the remaining sea of fire during his Vermillion Bird awakening; that transformed release breaks all ninety-nine Bottle World realms, but it is Wang Lin's one-time result rather than an additional feat Ming Hai personally controls. Appearance and personality

Ming Hai wears grey armor and a helmet that hides everything except cold, indifferent eyes. Devilish energy forms a shadow behind him, while celestial spiritual energy remains mixed into his aura. In battle he is controlled and emotionally muted, though melancholy enters his voice when he speaks of Fang Zhu and disappointment shows when Wang Lin initially fails to withstand it. Once the devilish fragment is sealed, his indifference breaks into pain, remorse, and renewed loyalty toward Qing Lin. (Chapters 1017–1019)

Abilities and cultivation

Realm-spirit power

Ming Hai identifies himself as a realm spirit of the Bottle World, and Wang Lin judges his strength comparable to a Nirvana Cleanser cultivator. His displayed power draws on both celestial and devilish energy. Because he fights inside the black-sand realm he guards, the corpus does not establish whether his environmental control would function outside that realm or survive the Bottle World's destruction. (Chapters 1017–1018)

Black smoke and Sand Explosion

A grasping motion creates five strands of black smoke that leave cuts in space. Ming Hai can also point at the ground and detonate or mobilize the desert, raising sand from all directions until converging waves threaten to bury the target. After Burn the Heavens melts the desert, he gathers the resulting black liquid into a defensive barrier. These techniques depend visibly on the realm's sand and devilish-celestial energy. (Chapters 1017 and 1019)

Fang Zhu

Fang Zhu is a three-inch white spirit sword gifted by Qing Lin and stored at Ming Hai's brow. Its sword energy cuts through the shockwaves of Wang Lin's ancient-god punches and is described as far stronger than Ling Tianhou's sword energy. When Ming Hai reveals its true form, sword shadows fill the sky and figures of ancient swordsmen descend with an incomplete portion of ancient sword intent. That incompleteness matters: Wang Lin's Merit Spirit diamond rune ultimately forces the sword and its borrowed intent back. (Chapters 1017–1018)

Burn the Heavens

Ming Hai knows Qing Lin's celestial spell Burn the Heavens. Nine-colored fire rises from his body and spreads through every part of the visible sky, melting the desert, burning blood from Wang Lin's body, and rapidly dissipating Wang's origin energy. The flames gather around and shatter the Merit Spirit rune, then continue as an inextinguishable sea after Ming Hai's death. The later fire that breaks all ninety-nine realms has passed through Wang Lin's Vermillion Bird awakening and body; the text explicitly treats that amplified release as exceptional and not repeatable under ordinary conditions. Devil corruption and its weakness

A wound at Ming Hai's right eyebrow contains a black fragment that channels devilish energy and suppresses his former loyalty. Wang Lin's seven-colored butterfly does not defeat him by raw impact; its sealing storm enters the wound, isolates the fragment, and interrupts that channel. The result briefly restores Ming Hai's mind, demonstrating both the mechanism of his corruption and the precise vulnerability that ends the fight. (Chapter 1019)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Ming Hai tests Wang Lin in the Bottle World and nearly defeats him with Fang Zhu and Burn the Heavens. Wang seals the devilish fragment controlling him, allowing his final lucid confession before the flames consume him. (Chapters 1016–1019)
• Ling Tianhou: Ling Tianhou is trapped in another Bottle World realm, not Ming Hai's direct companion or opponent. Fang Zhu's sword energy is compared favorably with Ling's, and Ling later evades the transformed remnants of Ming Hai's flames as the realms collapse. (Chapters 1017 and 1022.1)
