Master Scarlet Soul
Master Scarlet Soul is a Void Tribulant blood cultivator from the Immortal Astral Continent whom Ye Mo seals for countless years. Wang Lin releases him during a desperate battle, but after recovering his body and cultivation Scarlet Soul founds a sect, attacks Wang's Celestial Realm, and dies when the returning Wang destroys both his certainty and his origin soul. (Chapters 1586–1588 and 2074–2078)
Biography
Release from Ye Mo's palace
Ye Mo confines Scarlet Soul in one window of a black palace along with other powerful souls. During the Sovereign's attempt to separate Wang Lin's celestial and ancient bloodlines, Wang uses ancient blood and his own name to open that window and offers freedom in exchange for attacking his enemy. Scarlet Soul erupts as a blood-red shadow, knocks the Sovereign back, and immediately devours a nearby celestial imperial concubine by surrounding and melting her body. He then tears a hole through the enclosing sky and escapes. He does not remain to serve Wang, but he also does not attack the person whose blood broke his seal. (Chapters 1586–1588)
Recovery and the Scarlet Soul Sect
Over the following years, Scarlet Soul obtains a new body and restores his cultivation to its Void Tribulant peak. He establishes the Scarlet Soul Sect in the cave world, seriously injures Dao Master Blue Dream, destroys Master South Cloud's body, and takes one of Wang Lin's distant descendants as a disciple. That descendant's cruelty amuses him, and Scarlet Soul encourages the young man to rebel against the legacy of his own ancestor. His larger objective is the Celestial Realm: devouring the gathered cultivators and their blood essence, he believes, will let him advance to Golden Exalt and return to the Immortal Astral Continent with high status. (Chapters 2074–2075)
The siege and a reality he cannot accept
Scarlet Soul avoids smashing Wang's protective formation directly because he senses a dangerous residual aura. Instead, tens of thousands of blood puppets and a spreading blood mist corrode it over several days. The method opens the sky just as Wang returns. Scarlet Soul initially calls him an ant, then freezes when Liu Jinbiao's small snake reveals itself as a Golden Exalt sea dragon. He cycles through bribes, claimed connections, and threats involving Grand Empyrean Dao Yi, only for Wang to open a passage and make Dao Yi personally deny knowing him. Scarlet Soul retreats into denial and invents another relationship with the Celestial Emperor. Wang answers by displaying the emperor's refined soul and releasing half-step Heaven Trampling pressure. Unable to accept the scale of the person he has provoked, Scarlet Soul goes insane; his body collapses and his origin soul dies. (Chapters 2076–2078)
Appearance and personality
On release, Scarlet Soul appears as a blood-red shadow whose face cannot be distinguished. After obtaining a body, he is a red-haired old man surrounded by blood mist. His temperament is cruel, voracious, and intensely status-conscious. He regards the Celestial Realm's population as food, selects a sadistic disciple, and imagines the prestige he will enjoy after becoming a Golden Exalt. His confidence depends on hierarchy: once faced with a Golden Exalt beast, he begs and bargains, then invokes increasingly grand patrons. When every claimed protection fails, pride prevents him from adapting to reality and his reasoning collapses before his body does. (Chapters 1586, 2074, and 2076–2078)
Abilities and cultivation
- Peak Void Tribulant cultivation: After recovering from the seal, Scarlet Soul returns to his peak at Void Tribulant. This is enough to overwhelm the cave world's senior defenders, but remains far below the Golden Exalt level he hopes to reach through mass devouring. (Chapters 2074–2077)
- Blood-shadow form and devouring: As a released soul, Scarlet Soul manifests as red blood light that can engulf a cultivator, melt the physical body, and consume what remains. Devouring blood essence is both an attack and the cultivation path he expects to use for advancement. (Chapters 1586 and 2074)
- Spatial rupture: Even immediately after release, his power tears a large hole through the artificial sky around the battlefield, allowing him to escape Ye Mo's former prison and the Sovereign's reach. (Chapter 1586)
- Blood mist corrosion: Scarlet Soul studies the Celestial Realm formation and chooses slow infiltration over a direct collision with the threatening aura inside it. His blood mist seeps into the restriction for days until broad sections of the sky crack and collapse. (Chapters 2074–2076)
- Blood puppets: Tens of thousands of blood figures reinforce the corrosive light and enter through the breached formation as emotionless puppets. They extend Scarlet Soul's pressure across the siege without requiring him to expose himself inside the protected realm. (Chapters 2074–2076)
- Cultivator suppression: At restored strength, Scarlet Soul seriously injures Dao Master Blue Dream and destroys Master South Cloud's body. These victories explain why the Celestial Realm cannot simply defeat the besieging sect before Wang returns. (Chapter 2074)
Relationships
- Wang Lin: Wang deliberately opens Scarlet Soul's window as a desperate counter to the Sovereign, granting him freedom. Scarlet Soul later repays that accidental life debt by targeting Wang's realm and descendants; Wang returns, dismantles every imagined protection, and kills him through concentrated pressure. (Chapters 1586 and 2074–2078)
- Ye Mo: Ye Mo is the ancient enemy who seals Scarlet Soul in the black palace. Scarlet Soul carries that hatred into freedom and treats Wang, Ye Mo's inheritor, as a substitute target once he believes Wang has left the cave world. (Chapters 1586 and 2074)
- His unnamed disciple: Scarlet Soul selects one of Wang's distant descendants for talent and cruelty, fosters his rebellion, and promises him victims from the captured Celestial Realm. The relationship exposes how Scarlet Soul uses personal resentment as another weapon against Wang's legacy. (Chapter 2074)
- Grand Empyrean Dao Yi: Scarlet Soul falsely claims protection through an uncle-master under Dao Yi. Wang summons Dao Yi's presence, and the Grand Empyrean denies the connection while pleading with Wang not to be angry. (Chapters 2077–2078)
Items
No separate signature physical item is consistently assigned to Master Scarlet Soul. His blood mist and puppets are products of his cultivation, while the black palace belongs to Ye Mo and serves as his prison rather than his possession.
