Liu Feng

Liu Feng is a talented Xuan Dao Sect disciple with a pure water spirit root. He first defeats a Heng Yue disciple while deliberately using only part of his strength, later benefits from Xuan Dao's seizure of Heng Yue's back mountain, and reaches Foundation Establishment before discovering that Wang Lin has advanced far beyond the rival he once used as his goal. Biography

Contest at Heng Yue

Liu Feng enters Xuan Dao Sect's contest with Heng Yue as a sixth-layer Qi Condensation disciple whose cultivation is hidden by black fog. His elder instructs him to use only half his power. Against Zhao Long, Liu gathers a rainbow-like water screen that absorbs the incoming Lotus Blade sword energy and reflects it back. He wounds Zhao without killing him and becomes openly proud of the decisive win. (Chapters 47–49)

That confidence weakens once Wang Lin enters the wider confrontation. Liu Feng is among the last three Xuan Dao disciples still opposing him, but he surrenders before Wang releases the foul-smelling attack used on the others. The choice is pragmatic rather than heroic: Liu recognizes the mismatch and avoids a pointless humiliation. (Chapters 52, 54–55, and 57)

Rapid advancement and changed perspective

After Xuan Dao takes over Heng Yue's mountain, Liu Feng gains access to the back mountain's cultivation environment. His pure water spirit root and the new resources drive rapid progress until he approaches the thirteenth layer of Qi Condensation. With Punnan Zi's assistance, he later reaches early Foundation Establishment. (Chapters 63, 67–71, and 110)

For years Liu treats Wang Lin's former level as a target and assumes his breakthrough has finally put him ahead. When he witnesses Wang kill a mid-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator, his unstable new spiritual energy and confidence both falter. He understands that his own impressive sect-backed advancement has not closed the gap, and his last appearance is defined by fear rather than rivalry. (Chapter 110)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no detailed early portrait; by Chapter 110 Liu Feng appears about thirty years old. He begins as confident and proud of his talent, yet he is capable of restraint: he follows the order to limit his strength against Zhao Long, stops short of killing him, and later surrenders when fighting Wang is clearly hopeless. His reaction years later shows that much of his ambition was organized around measuring himself against Wang. (Chapters 47–57 and 110)

Abilities and cultivation

• Pure water spirit root and cultivation: Liu Feng possesses a pure water spirit root, a talent that supports unusually fast water-aspected cultivation. He progresses from the sixth layer of Qi Condensation to nearly the thirteenth after Xuan Dao gains Heng Yue's back mountain, then reaches early Foundation Establishment with Punnan Zi's help.
