Ji Si

Ji Si is the title held by the mortal guardian of the Green Scorpion Temple. The elderly Ji Si of Wang Lin's era devotes more than a century to testing and transforming Wang's body into a vessel for the Green Devil Scorpion, inadvertently granting Wang immense cultivation resources before discovering that his intended victim remained conscious. Biography

Preparation of the vessel

Ji Si receives the unconscious Wang Lin from the Devil Dao Sect's sect master and promises political supremacy in exchange for erasing Wang's mind without damaging his body. He supplies two rare Thunder Emperor Beads when the first attempt stalls. Once the sect master departs, Ji Si continues testing for hidden consciousness with temptations and lethal feints, using his own blood as a concealed safeguard. (Chapters 1891–1893)

Even after those tests show no response, Ji Si waits. Every generation of his family has guarded the temple, and he has spent more than two thousand of his nearly three thousand years there. He watches Wang through a green mirror while scorpions consume the body over more than a century, treating time and apparent bodily destruction as the final proof that no origin soul remains. Fortune meant for the Green Devil

Convinced at last, Ji Si spends the treasures accumulated by generations of his family. He supplies earth materials that create Wang's ninth essence and nearly form an essence true body, reinforces the Ancient Dao body with a celestial-tree branch, constructs a separate vein for celestial power, and implants a yin blade made from tens of thousands of materials and suppressed souls. Every enhancement is intended for the Green Devil Scorpion after possession, not as a gift to Wang. (Chapters 1895–1896)

Ji Si then summons the weakened scorpion soul and assures it that the vessel is empty. Wang awakens from the Heaven Defying Bead, devours much of the invading soul, and breaks out using the powers Ji Si prepared. Watching the plan of countless generations reverse in an instant, Ji Si coughs blood and dies from rage. (Chapter 1898)

Appearance and personality

Ji Si is an extremely old man hidden in a green robe, with demonic eyes, a hoarse voice, violent coughing, and one withered arm covered in green hair. He is patient, highly intelligent, suspicious, and utterly devoted to his inherited mission. Even seemingly sincere last words are part of a test, though his exhaustion and longing to return his family's ashes to the Central Continent may still be genuine. (Chapters 1891–1895)

Abilities and cultivation

Mortal office and prolonged lifespan

Ji Si is explicitly mortal rather than a cultivator. A secret method allows each generation holding the title to live for at most three thousand years, and the current guardian is more than 2,800 years old. His authority and danger come from the temple, inherited tools, bloodline methods, and resources sealed into his body—not from a stated cultivation realm. (Chapters 1893–1894)

Blood, jade, and inherited seals

Ji Si's blood can drive back the temple's scorpions, erase a foreign will from an essence true body, and leave a hidden protective mark that reacts to attacks. He also carries a green jade usable only by a Ji Si; it detects nearby mental fluctuations and can destroy a target without requiring cultivation. Generations of guardians seal revival materials inside the current Ji Si's body so that outsiders cannot extract them unless he releases them willingly, with Grand Empyreans suggested as the possible exception. Vessel transformation

Ji Si knows how to apply his family's stored materials to alter a body: Meng Earth Beads and rarer grains establish earth essence; a 90,000-year celestial-tree branch creates a resilient inner net; celestial materials and a strand associated with the Celestial Ancestor form a second energy vein; and a yin blade is planted inside the arm. These are resource-intensive ritual procedures, not proof that Ji Si can personally reproduce the resulting essences or weapon effects without the prepared materials. (Chapters 1895–1896)

Relationships

• Wang Lin: Ji Si treats Wang as an empty vessel, tests him for more than a century, and invests his family's accumulated treasures in his body. Wang's concealed consciousness turns the entire preparation into his own fortune. (Chapters 1891–1898)
