Nightingale's Revolver

History

Nightingale carries revolvers as part of her work protecting Roland Wimbledon and the Witch Union. The weapon is first explicitly demonstrated when Roland asks her to fire at a luminous God's Stone prism; the bullet leaves only a mark, establishing both the revolver's normal physical action and the exceptional durability of the magical mineral. (Chapter 273)

In close combat with the Church's Pure Witch, Nightingale fires one revolver until she cannot reload safely inside the Mist, then draws a second gun while escaping through the floor. She later keeps a revolver ready during ruin exploration and uses it from the Mist to kill a demon riding a Devilbeast. These encounters turn the sidearm into a complement to her spatial mobility rather than a substitute for it. (Chapters 415, 807, and 929)

Properties and use

The revolver is an ordinary firearm manufactured and supplied through Neverwinter, not a magical artifact. It fires conventional bullets in rapid, individually aimed shots and continues to function when anti-magic suppresses witch abilities. Nightingale can carry more than one, allowing a second cylinder's shots when reloading would be too slow. (Chapters 273 and 415)

Its effectiveness depends on range, ammunition, and the target. Bullets cannot penetrate high-grade God's Stone and can be blocked by magical defenses. Nightingale's Mist lets her choose unusual angles, evade return attacks, and reach a vulnerable rider, but cramped terrain or active suppression can remove those advantages. The corpus does not give the revolvers a unique formal model name, so this article uses the possessive descriptive title rather than inventing one. (Chapters 273, 415, and 929)
