Petrov Hull
Petrov Hull is a noble envoy, governor of Longsong, and City Hall director.
Biography
From envoy to administrator
Petrov first approaches Border Town as a commercially minded Honeysuckle envoy, expecting to bargain over ore and report Roland's defiance to Longsong's nobles. Roland's survival against both the demonic beasts and Duke Ryan overturns those expectations; when the Western Region changes hands, Petrov cooperates rather than gamble his family on another losing challenge. (Chapters 17, 22, 102, and 278)
Governing Longsong for the new order
Placed in charge of Longsong, Petrov warns Roland about hostile envoys, manages public order, promotes improved grain, and builds storage before a bumper harvest overwhelms local capacity. That practical work turns a cautious noble intermediary into a trusted regional administrator, though his latest mention is only a recollection connected to Paper and Snaketooth rather than a new decision. (Chapters 195, 454, 579, 682, 826, and 1097)
Appearance and personality
Petrov is presented as a composed young noble accustomed to formal dress, calculation, and theater. He can be startled by unfamiliar technology, but his dominant traits are caution and adaptability: he tests Roland's claims, then changes allegiance when results make the new balance of power undeniable. (Chapters 17, 102, 921–922)
Magic and abilities
Petrov has no supernatural ability. His demonstrated skills are negotiation, noble intelligence-gathering, municipal administration, agricultural planning, and storage logistics; these succeed because he uses reports and local institutions, not because he commands events personally. (Chapters 17, 195, 454, 579, and 826)
Relationships
Petrov's relationship with Roland Wimbledon develops from wary bargaining into delegated service. He remains a friend of Rene Medde despite judging him impractical, and coordinates with Barov Mons on reports and agricultural policy. (Chapters 102, 278, 579, and 682)
