Margaret

Margaret is the merchant and explorer. (Chapter 148)

Biography

A merchant bridge to the Fjords

Margaret approached Roland as a merchant with firsthand knowledge of the Fjords and recognized the value of Border Town's new products. She repeatedly chose continued trade and later joined Thunder's expedition, linking commercial judgment with the risks of ocean exploration. (Chapter 148)

Commerce becomes exploration

Margaret expanded her relationship with Neverwinter by bringing Fjords merchants into the Joint Chamber of Commerce and volunteering first to join it. She later sailed with Thunder beyond the Sealine; worried about Joan but unwilling to let fear stop the voyage, she pulled herself together as the expedition encountered the Bloody Moon and an unknown sea threat. (Chapters 680, 1216)

Appearance and personality

Margaret is about thirty when she first visits Border Town, with thick, long bright-blond hair, a darker Fjords complexion, and weathering from years of travel. Her measured response to unfamiliar inventions and willingness to invest in continued trade present her as observant and commercially adventurous. (Chapter 148)

Magic and abilities

Her demonstrated strengths are negotiation, trade judgment, and seafaring experience; she has no established magic. (Chapter 216)

Relationships

Margaret becomes a trade partner of Roland and a trusted commercial contact for Neverwinter. Her ties to Thunder and Lightning also place her inside the Fjords exploration community rather than only Graycastle's markets. (Chapters 148, 680, 1216)
