Ling
Ling is a Taquila witch whose ability to enter and move through shadows makes her a specialist in infiltration and quiet capture. (Chapter 796)
Biography
Learning that darkness is both route and limit
Ling uses shadows to infiltrate during early Dream World operations, making ordinary barriers largely irrelevant while darkness connects her path. A later underground assignment fails because bright, shadowless conditions leave no route for the ability, and she reports the failure instead of inventing success. By the campaign's later stage, she follows Roland and incapacitates hostile martialists without raising an alarm, applying the earlier limit through better target and terrain selection. (Chapters 796, 859, and 1185–1186)
Appearance and personality
Ling is presented as a small, youthful witch whose smiling face can appear from a shadow. She is eager to prove useful and takes failure seriously, but remains capable of disciplined, quiet action. (Chapters 796 and 859)
Magic and abilities
Ling can merge into and travel through connected shadows, conceal herself there, and emerge for surprise attacks. Strong illumination and spaces without usable shadow block movement, so the power is terrain-dependent rather than general invisibility. (Chapters 796, 859, and 1185)
Relationships
Roland Wimbledon directs Ling's later covert work in the Dream World. Her service alongside Phyllis and other Taquila survivors gives an ancient infiltration ability a role inside Neverwinter's modern operations. (Chapters 796, 859, and 1185–1186)
