Biography

Choosing a charge against unfamiliar firepower

Lehman delivers Timothy's demand with an army expected to seize resources and compel obedience, relying on cavalry, armor, and the Berserk Pills' brutal momentum. When Roland's force resists, he orders the charge rather than reconsidering the weapons arrayed against him. Concentrated gunfire makes conventional protection irrelevant, and a shot to the head kills him; the failed mission demonstrates the cost of enforcing Timothy's authority with tactics built for an older battlefield. Appearance and personality

Lehman appears as an armored military noble and commander. He is forceful, confident in cavalry hierarchy, and willing to spend chemically driven troops for political coercion, but shows little understanding of Roland's firearms before committing to battle. (Chapters 192–199)
