Biography

A younger sister reaches safety

Bell contracts the demonic plague while fleeing with refugees, and Lucia boards the disease ship rather than abandon her. Border Town's rescue and treatment save Bell, after which Roland lets the non-witch child remain with her witch sister instead of separating them. (Chapters 216 and 219)

In the castle Bell experiences ordinary safety, watches Lucia practice, and worries during her Day of Awakening.
