Azima

Azima is a tracing witch and expedition leader.

Biography

Following a trace toward a new home

Azima arrives with Sleeping Island's migration but resists joining the Witch Union because she distrusts the new arrangement and feels responsible for her own small group. Wendy's patience leaves the choice open; when Roland offers work suited to her power, Azima accepts an expedition rather than remain defined by that dispute. (Chapters 900, 945, 950–951, and 1029)

The Cage Mountain expedition

She leads a mixed team up Cage Mountain by following the connection attached to an old coin. The dangerous search gives her ability public purpose and uncovers evidence important to Graycastle, after which she returns to a Neverwinter where she has begun to establish a place of her own. (Chapters 1051, 1054, 1092, and 1192)

Appearance and personality

Azima is guarded, proud, and strongly protective of the witches who followed her. The supplied chapters do not establish a detailed fixed appearance; her development is shown instead through the shift from defensive isolation to accepting responsibility for a mixed expedition. (Chapters 900, 950–951, and 1051)

Magic and abilities

Azima perceives a directional connection from a chosen token toward something strongly related to it, allowing her to trace people, places, or sources through difficult terrain. She still needs a meaningful object, guides, guards, and ordinary travel; the line does not reveal every obstacle or make the destination safe. (Chapters 1029, 1051, 1054, and 1092)

Relationships

Wendy tries to integrate Azima without erasing her choices, while Roland Wimbledon gives her a mission that validates the ability. Sean protects the expedition but must follow Azima's direction for the search to succeed. (Chapters 945, 950–951, 1029, and 1051)
