Zane
Zane is the S-rank lord of Silk City and an uncle of Quin. He initially tries to enforce city authority against an unknown visitor, then recognizes Aengus Degaro as emperor and supports the opportunity Aengus gives his troublesome nephew. (Chapters 242–247)
Biography
Healing Their Souls to Meeting With Saintess Lumenaria
Zane answered Quin's complaint with guards but first rebuked his nephew's habit of creating trouble, urging him to contribute through trade rather than chase a hunter's strength he lacked. When the occupants ignored his visit, responsibility for Silk's rules and growing impatience pushed Zane to blast the door with an S-rank fire skill. Aengus devoured the attack and suppressed him so completely that Zane pleaded under the pressure. Once identities were clear, the city lord shifted from confrontation to deference instead of sacrificing his people to pride. (Chapters 242–244)
Watching Aengus give Quin an Ancient Titan bloodline changed Zane's judgment further. He moved from concern over an emperor who disregarded the gods to belief that Aengus sought his subjects' welfare, warned the AxelCrest leader against careless threats, cleared the crowd on command, and bowed to Aria as empress consort. Zane offered imperial hospitality and remained behind when the Silvermoon family and Quin departed through Aengus's portal. His final laughter with Quin's father acknowledges that the nephew he once scolded may now have the clan's brightest future. (Chapters 245–247)
Appearance and personality
Zane is a stern city lord with noble authority and a powerful S-rank aura; the corpus does not fix his hair, eyes, age, clothing, or weapon. He values civic order and productive contribution, making his criticism of Quin more responsible than indulgent. Pride and impatience still lead him into a disastrous attack, but he adapts quickly when evidence overturns his assumptions and becomes genuinely pleased by Aengus's help rather than merely fearful. (Chapters 242–247)
Skills, laws, and abilities
Zane is an S-rank whose aura naturally communicates authority over Silk's hundreds of thousands of residents. He activates an unnamed fire-related S-rank skill that sends a destructive fiery wave toward a reinforced door, demonstrating ranged fire offense. Aengus devours the attack instantly, so its maximum force, area, cost, cooldown, and effect on an equal-rank target remain unknown. (Chapters 242, 244)
His administrative power includes commanding city guards, dispersing crowds, and offering official hospitality, but those functions depend on office rather than supernatural compulsion. Aengus's pressure leaves Zane unable to stand and causes severe internal distress, showing that S-rank status offers no meaningful resistance to the emperor. Zane gains no new bloodline or skill when Quin is transformed; he is an observer, not the recipient. (Chapters 244–247)
