Maru

Biography

March To Naga Tribe to Granting Systems

Maru begins as a double-headed Hydra selected with Gabi and other loyal demons for Aengus Degaro's “divine blessing.” He promises to serve as sword and shield, then undergoes synthesis into a twenty-five-meter triple-headed hybrid with Naga, wolf, and crocodile heads and the capacity to assume a Naga form. Maru subsequently advances with the elite vanguard during the human battle and receives a System as part of Aengus's first chosen hierarchy, turning an unnamed monster subordinate into a trusted beneficiary of imperial power. (Chapters 97–118)

Synthesize: New Race

When Aengus's awakened presence descends over the army, Maru is among the small group that recognizes their True Lord immediately, evidence of familiarity created through direct transformation and service. Chapter 265 does not show Maru receiving a further synthesis or identify a new race for him despite the arc's chapter title; it therefore confirms continued allegiance and recognition, not a safely measurable personal evolution. (Chapter 265)

The Return of the Emperor to Clues

Later imperial history names Maru and Gabi jointly as the Lords of the Hydras, warlords associated with legendary multi-headed serpents. Maru remains among the senior figures grieving Aengus's decade-long absence and later approaches the returned emperor with the old leadership to receive a gift or wish. The exact blessing granted to Maru, the campaigns that produced his public title, and any intervening biological development are not stated, but his presence confirms durable status and loyalty. (Chapters 412–439)

Appearance and personality

Maru is originally a double-headed Hydra and becomes a twenty-five-meter triple-headed creature whose heads resemble a Naga, wolf, and crocodile; his scale colors and humanoid Naga appearance are not described. His speech and conduct emphasize submission, gratitude, and enduring loyalty. Later remembrance as a Hydra lord establishes authority, though the corpus gives little independent dialogue from which to infer a broader personality. (Chapters 97–439)

Skills, laws, and abilities

Synthesis greatly increases Maru's size, adds a third head, and grants a Naga transformation, providing both monstrous force and humanoid versatility. Aengus later grants him a System, but its interface, class, skills, and advancement are never shown. His title associates him with commanding legendary multi-headed serpents, yet no specific breath element, regeneration rate, head-specific technique, flight, law, energy cost, or transformation duration is confirmed. (Chapters 97–412)

Relationships

  • Aengus Degaro: Aengus transforms Maru, grants him a System, receives his service, and later grants him an unspecified gift. (Chapters 97–439)
  • Gabi: Gabi is Maru's fellow transformed Hydra and co-holder of the later Lords of the Hydras title. (Chapters 97–439)

Items

No named weapon, armor, or personal item is assigned to Maru. The nature of the gift he receives after Aengus's return is not disclosed. (Chapter 439)
