Longus

Longus Emberion was Arcadia's city lord and its only S-rank defender. He treated the unexplained disappearance of a dungeon as a possible threat to humanity and later bore the heaviest cost of defending the city from the monster assault. (Chapters 24–78)

Biography

Dungeon Disappearance to The Council Meeting

When a dungeon vanished without explanation, Longus ordered a full investigation because he feared a conspiracy or a danger larger than Arcadia could absorb. Other urgent duties kept him away from an earlier defense and unsettled the city's clan leaders, but he returned to command the decisive stand against the invasion. Longus summoned the Sunfire Crow to light and burn through Obsidian Terrors, then transformed and entered the Dreadnaught Colossus's draining dark void to stop it. The gamble nearly killed him: his strength and life were stripped away until emergency healing restored him, and the council later recorded victory at tremendous cost. His actions preserve Arcadia while showing that its sole S-rank shield can be exhausted and almost lost. (Chapters 24–78)

Reunion With Old Party

Much later, Aengus Degaro restored the ruined Arcadia and returned with former companions, but Longus and the other established officials were absent from the revived city. Their disappearance left governance disordered even after the physical settlement returned. The chapter gives no explanation—Longus is not confirmed dead, displaced, imprisoned, or elsewhere on duty—so his latest status must remain unknown rather than treating absence as a demonstrated fate. (Chapter 449)

Appearance and personality

Longus is presented as a towering, imposing ruler whose combat transformation becomes a massive fiery crow. He is vigilant and institution-minded, responding to an anomalous dungeon with investigation rather than dismissal, and he accepts personal danger when Arcadia's survival requires it. His willingness to enter the Colossus's void is courageous but costly, suggesting a protector prepared to gamble his own life where no comparable defender is available. (Chapters 24, 59–78)

Skills, laws, and abilities

Sunfire Crow (S) summons a gigantic fiery crow whose light and heat illuminate the battlefield and whose flames attack Obsidian Terrors. Body of Ruination (S) transforms or intensifies Longus's crow body, coating its feathers in destructive energy for a stronger assault. The text demonstrates area illumination, fire offense, flight-capable form, and amplified physical destruction, but does not provide cooldowns, fuel requirements, or a complete system panel. (Chapters 59–67)

Longus's decisive use against the Dreadnaught Colossus also exposes hard limits. The creature's dark void behaves like a draining black hole: entry strips his strength and life, overwhelms the transformed body, and leaves him near death. An A-grade Health Restoration potion can revive and stabilize him, but he remains severely fatigued. His victory therefore depends on outside emergency treatment and does not show immunity to darkness, absorption, or attritional damage. (Chapters 67–78)

Relationships

  • Arcadia's citizens: Longus rules and serves as the city's sole S-rank military safeguard, making its survival his central pressure. (Chapters 24–78)
  • Aengus Degaro: Aengus later restores Arcadia, but Longus is absent and the two do not reunite in the supplied chapter. (Chapter 449)

Items

An A-grade Health Restoration potion is administered to Longus after the Colossus nearly drains him to death. It is an emergency consumable used on him, not clearly established as his property before the battle; no named personal weapon or armor is confirmed. (Chapters 67–78)
