Hank is a sociable hunter who brings the disguised Aengus into Sofia's party and remains one of the old companions invited to his later wedding.

Biography

Hank to Rivalry

Hank approaches Aengus Degaro, then calling himself Zero, despite sensing that the stranger is dangerous. He challenges a merchant who overprices Zero's clothing, introduces him to the party, and treats him as “Brother Zero” before the others have accepted him. In the Ancient Land, Hank survives separation and injury, runs toward his companions rather than challenging dragon-blooded enemies beyond him, and defends Aengus from blame even after the party loses Mara and Lark. His mediation cannot repair Sofia's trust, but it keeps gratitude and grief from becoming the same judgment. (Chapters 148–187)

Wedding Ceremony (2) to Wedding Ceremony (3))

Years later, Hank attends Aengus's wedding because of a personal invitation. He is older, bearded, still chubby, and apparently partnered with Alisha. His astonishment at Zero's rise shows the distance between their brief adventure and Aengus's cosmic authority, while his presence confirms that their parting did not erase the earlier bond. He watches as a former teammate publicly claims his empresses before rulers from across existence. (Chapters 455–456)

Appearance and personality

Hank is a chubby, round-bodied man whose body jiggles when he walks; by the wedding he has grown a beard without losing that build. Friendly, excitable, and curious, he is also perceptive enough to retract an overfamiliar gesture when danger warns him. Loyalty tempers his enthusiasm: he chooses achievable opponents, worries deeply about missing friends, and respectfully disagrees when grief makes others unfair. (Chapters 148–187 and 455–456)

Skills, laws, and abilities

Hank is a C-rank close-combat hunter who uses a large mace. He defeats a longsword user in the Royal Colosseum and is said to possess tough skills competitive with his generation, but none are named or mechanically explained. Later he survives the Ancient Land scarred, bloodied, and reliant on low-tier healing potions, with his mace damaged beyond repair. These details establish endurance and practical melee ability, not a quantified defensive skill or later formal advancement. (Chapters 150–179)
