Gourmond is the chief of the Horned Lizard Tribe who submits to Aengus Degaro in exchange for his people's security. He subsequently receives the system, serves in Aengus's expanding army, and becomes one of the Prime Empire's Demon Lords. (Chapters 108–122 and 273–280)

Biography

Gourmond initially tried to prevent conquest by invoking an old non-aggression pact and a debt associated with the Black Dragon ancestor. Once Aengus defeated him and made clear that the isolated tribe's protection was expiring, Gourmond chose survival over pride: he surrendered territory, resources, and loyalty in return for safety and a path to strength. He then joined the elite army, took command responsibility within it, accepted the system Aengus granted, and acquired a human form.
