Eleanora

Eleanora is Aengus's mother, Hexagon Osaris's daughter, and the wife of Augustus Degaro. Denied freedom within the Degaro family, she protects her mistreated eldest son through secret intervention and eventually leaves with him after their reunion. (Chapters 213, 366, and 425–454)

Family History to Getting Caught?

Before returning to his birth family, Aengus remembered Eleanora as the warm and kind parent who protected him as readily as his talented younger siblings, despite his lack of recognized ability. An illusion later drew on that loving childhood image to reach him emotionally. These memories establish why abandonment by the wider Degaro household did not become rejection of his mother: her consistent care remained the exception against which the family's cruelty was measured, even while Aengus did not yet know the price she had paid to help him escape it. Grandfather Hexagon!!

Hexagon revealed that Eleanora had been taken from him by Augustus and the Degaro family, who sealed the connection to her father and reduced her freedom. When the family planned to dispose of the supposedly useless Aengus, she could not oppose them openly without endangering her children, so she secretly contacted Hexagon and asked him to redirect Aengus into the Mythraldor trial. Her choice exposed her son to danger but created the route by which he escaped a more certain fate. It also recasts her apparent passivity as constrained resistance: she endured captivity to protect Aengus, Aeon, and Irina while using the one ally still available beyond the household. Still living in the Degaro household, Eleanora sensed that Aengus was in danger and defended him when Augustus called him worthless. When her son's power became visible across Xenia, she refused the family's demand that she approach him for their benefit, ashamed that they wanted advantage after his suffering. Their reunion allowed her to embrace Aengus and meet Aron, but Augustus and her other children made leaving emotionally difficult. Irina's decision to go with her brother broke the paralysis, and Eleanora left with Aengus, Irina, and Aron for Kievan. There Aria and Bella Bellfrost welcomed her, and the wedding reunited her with Hexagon, moving her from coerced dependence into her son's acknowledged family. (Chapters 425, 451–456)

Appearance and personality

The corpus presents Eleanora as a beautiful adult woman but supplies few fixed physical details. Her trembling hands, unshed tears, clenched fists, and softened gaze around Aron carry most of her characterization. She is warm, protective, and morally unwilling to exploit Aengus, yet years under Augustus have made open defiance frightening. No combat rank, system, law, or named supernatural ability is demonstrated for Eleanora. Her intuition that Aengus is involved in distant events is emotionally striking, but the source does not identify it as a formal skill or prove a magical sensing mechanism.
