Artemes

Artemes was the Moon God and a long-serving assistant of the Goddess of Light. Drawn to the mortal realm by Aengus's exposure of a Divine Stone, he sought glory and possession of the opportunity for himself, only to be overwhelmed and devoured by the mortal he had dismissed. (Chapters 324–334)

Biography

Artemes to Begin Unification

Artemes descended in overwhelming moonlight after detecting Aengus's Divine Stone, announcing divine judgment while privately acting from greed and wounded pride. He tried to compel Aengus to accompany him to the Goddess of Light, then escalated when Aengus siphoned his energy: his physical strike broke bones, and his sword and nine moons drove a world-shaking assault. Aengus nevertheless transformed into the Void and reversed the power balance. Artemes tried to flee, froze under the Void's pressure, and finally demanded that his mortal worshippers sacrifice themselves to save him. The Void consumed him and transferred his moon skill and fragments of memory to Aengus; other gods later described his solitary intervention as a glory-seeking folly. (Chapters 324–334)

Appearance and personality

Artemes manifests as a radiant divine figure whose blinding moonlight can eclipse the sun and dissolve ordinary shadows. He wears divine armor, bleeds white blood when injured, and carries himself with a god's theatrical authority. Pride is his governing trait: mockery and the theft of his energy provoke rage, while greed keeps him from warning allies. Once overmatched, grandeur gives way to panic, attempted flight, and contempt for the worshippers he expects to die in his place. (Chapters 324–332)

Skills, laws, and abilities

Artemes moves at light-like speed and couples divine physical force with moon energy; a shin strike against Aengus cracks bones even through a raised guard. His radiant presence affects the sky on a vast scale, and his sword releases destructive waves capable of obliterating matter. These feats establish extreme speed, strength, reach, and environmental pressure, but his divine authority does not automatically compel Aengus or protect his energy from being siphoned. (Chapters 324–329)

His signature power summons Nine Heavenly Moons, channels their light into the Nine Heavenly Moon Sword, and culminates in a high-grade divine offensive. After devouring him, Aengus receives Nine Heavenly Moon Summon (SSS), confirming the skill's grade and ownership in Artemes's source essence. Artemes remains a lower god limited by his soul, however, and the Void can halt his escape, suppress his radiance, and consume him completely; the precise cooldown and independent durability of each moon are not supplied. (Chapters 328–334)

Relationships

• Goddess of Light: Artemes serves her for countless ages and invokes her authority, but pursues Aengus alone so he can claim the glory. (Chapters 324–325, 334)
• Aengus Degaro: Artemes intends to judge and capture him, underestimates his growth, and is ultimately devoured by his Void. (Chapters 324–334)
• Lumenaria and the Heroes: They worship and call to Artemes, only for him to demand their sacrifice when his own life is threatened. (Chapters 330–332)

Items

The Nine Heavenly Moon Sword is Artemes's named divine weapon and the focus through which he channels the nine moons' power. He also wears divine armor, which is damaged while he fights Aengus. The chapters do not establish either item's separate grade, maker, or survival after Artemes is devoured. (Chapters 324–334)
