Onyx Medallion
The Onyx Medallion is a summoning relic made under the authority of the Myriad Ant Queen and originally given to the Royal Family of the Anaesha Dynasty. It calls ranked ant soldiers, but only for a user the Ant Queen has authorized. (Chapters 248, 354)
History
Anaesha royal relic
Great Chief Evander first throws the medallion to Prince Aziel, who uses it during his duel with William. Aziel repeatedly summons Blood-Eyed Torment Ant Soldiers and then a Grim Nightmare Ant Commander to overwhelm his opponent. (Chapters 247–248)
William's captured summon
After Aziel's defeat, William retrieves the intact medallion from the battlefield. He later questions the Ant Queen—Sidonie's Beast Companion—about its rules, and she grants him permission to use it. (Chapters 250, 354)
Abilities and properties
- An authorized holder can summon the Ant Queen's children. (Chapter 354)
- The stated upper limit is one Millennial Ant, twelve Centennial Ants, and one thousand Soldier Ants of Rank D or C. (Chapter 354)
- Summoning authority is not conveyed by mere possession: the Ant Queen must allow the holder to use the relic. (Chapter 354)
- The medallion survives the heat of William and Aziel's battle without melting, but the corpus does not explicitly call it indestructible. (Chapter 250)
