Rebecca
Rebecca is the daughter of Duchess Agatha of Griffith, a talented Ice mage raised by the Misty Sect, and William's former arranged fiancée. She first visits Lont when her mother and master dissolve the unwanted engagement, then trains for the promised duel that will decide the relationship on her own terms. Her later loyalty in Elliot's secret preparations and her gradual reconciliation with William turn a childhood conflict into a freely chosen marriage.
Biography
From a broken arrangement to a chosen bond
Rebecca meets William as a child when the Griffith party comes to terminate a marriage agreement made by their families. The two accept a future duel at the Misty Sect as the clean way to settle the remaining dispute. Seven years later Rebecca faces him with refined Ice Magic, close-combat training, Saint-level power, and the aid of the Ice Phoenix Meredith. William wins and uses the victory to free Rebecca to love whomever she chooses rather than reclaim the engagement. She later accepts Elliot's request to help delay the Giants before Hestia is ready for war, a decision he remembers as proof of her loyalty under uncertainty. After the War of Destruction, Rebecca and William slowly move from acquaintances to friends and lovers, eventually marrying by their own choice. (Chapters 17–21, 212, 545, 648, 698–701, 1403–1405, 1473)
Appearance and personality
As a child, Rebecca has short light-brown hair, clear light-green eyes, and a doll-like face. By the duel, her hair has grown long and she wears the light-blue robes of a Misty Sect inner disciple. She retains the same green eyes and composed, fairy-like bearing. (Chapters 17, 698–699)
Rebecca is proud, disciplined, competitive, and initially sheltered by the assumptions of her family and sect. She is nevertheless capable of mutual respect: she coordinates silently with William during the war, accepts the result of their duel, takes a dangerous assignment from Elliot, and comforts William when his grief breaks through his public authority. Her later relationship with William grows through patience rather than the enforcement of their abandoned betrothal. (Chapters 17–21, 212, 698–701, 1404, 1473)
Skills, classes, and divinities
- Ice Magic: Rebecca conjures ice weapons, fires large volleys of icicles, and creates an ice tornado capable of absorbing and redirecting opposing ice formations. Her exchange with William demonstrates both control and output, but an opponent with comparable elemental mastery can counter or deflect her spells. (Chapters 699–700)
- Close-combat training: Unlike many mages, Rebecca is proficient at fighting at close range with manifested weapons. The skill comes from extensive training rather than a separately named System class, and William can match her during their duel. (Chapter 700)
- Saint-level power: Rebecca releases Saint-rank magical pressure when she invokes her trump card at the Misty Sect. That impressive output remains below William's strongest transformations and does not by itself let her defeat him. (Chapters 700–701)
- Meredith's aid: Rebecca can call on Meredith, the Pseudo-Demigod Ice Phoenix guarding the Misty Sect. Meredith creates a blizzard and reinforces Rebecca's battlefield position, but she is an allied guardian rather than Rebecca's personal Divinity or an ordinary summoned pet. (Chapters 700–701)
- Operational discipline: Under Elliot's direction, Rebecca works with Chloee to prevent the Giants from entering Hestia before its defenders are ready. The mission demonstrates secrecy and reliability, not future sight of her own. (Chapters 1403–1405)
Relationships
- William: Their families arrange a marriage, but Rebecca's party breaks it before either child can choose. Their later duel ends with William releasing her from all obligation. Years of shared danger and voluntary companionship eventually lead them to marry on terms neither family imposed. (Chapters 17–21, 212, 648, 698–701, 1404, 1473)
- Elliot: Elliot recruits Rebecca as a secret subordinate in his effort to delay the Giants. His final letter praises her loyalty and asks William to reconsider the distance between them. (Chapters 1403–1405)
- Chloee: Chloee works with Rebecca on Elliot's anti-Giant preparations. Their cooperation helps preserve the time Hestia needs to prepare for the later invasion. (Chapters 1403–1405)
- Agatha and Eleanor: Agatha is Rebecca's mother, while Eleanor is her Misty Sect master. Their intervention ends the childhood engagement and directs Rebecca toward the sect, but Rebecca's adult relationship with William becomes her own decision. (Chapters 17–21, 698–701)
Items
- Misty Sect robes: Rebecca wears the light-blue clothing assigned to the sect's inner disciples during her duel with William. The robes identify rank and affiliation; no special defensive property is established. (Chapter 698)
- Conjured ice weapons: Her close-combat weapons are formed from Ice Magic and can be replaced when they shatter. The corpus does not assign Rebecca a named permanent sword, staff, or cataloged artifact. (Chapters 699–700)
