Leonidas

Leonidas is the Great Emperor of the Kraetor Empire and the grandfather of Sidonie. He first treats the Southern Continental War as an opportunity for imperial expansion, but later becomes one of the rulers whose influence stabilizes William's position and helps form a worldwide coalition. His decisions connect dynastic politics, military mobilization, and diplomacy: he protects Sidonie, approves her marriage, leads Kraetor against the Elun Empire, reassures other sovereigns about William's intentions, and commits his national treasure to the War of Destruction. Appearance and personality

Leonidas is a man with graying hair who projects the authority expected of the ruler of one of the Central Continent's Eight Overlords. His early commands are openly imperialistic, demanding submission from conquered peoples and death for resistance. He is also pragmatic and strongly invested in his family. He does not berate a grandson for a sensible tournament surrender, changes royal policy when William's achievements alter the balance of power, and can set aside sovereign pride to cooperate with Empress Andraste. Biography

The Demon Continent and the Heir of Darkness

Leonidas enters the wider conflict as an expansionist emperor, ordering Kraetor's warriors to stake a claim in the Southern Continent and establish Sidonie as its queen. Even at that stage, he governs through delegated command and family positioning: Prince Jason receives missions from him, while two Sword Saints and a Grand Archmage are assigned as Sidonie's personal guards. His priorities shift as William proves capable of conquering the Tower of Babylon and becomes tied to the imperial family. Leonidas uses his lingering sentiment for Chiffon's mother to accept Chiffon into Kraetor's care, approves Sidonie's marriage to William, and later permits political arrangements that the Royal Family would previously have rejected. When William leaves Kraetor and the Heir of Darkness begins moving, Leonidas follows events through Evexius's reports rather than overextending blindly. The later war pushes him from dynastic calculation into continental coordination. He and Empress Andraste personally lead their armies against the Elun Empire, then use their influence to convince other rulers that William is not pursuing expansion; this isolates the Holy Order by causing nations to reject its appeal for reinforcements. When William needs the world united against the Army of Destruction, he turns to Leonidas and Andraste as the two sovereigns capable of influencing the Central Continent. Leonidas answers the final mobilization, deploys Kraetor's forces, and joins other rulers in preparing a limited-use Sacred Relic once William authorizes every nation to employ its last resort. Leonidas commands the military and political resources of one of the Central Continent's eight dominant powers. Sacred Relic access

As Kraetor's sovereign, Leonidas has custody of a national Sacred Relic reserved for existential danger. He prepares it when the Army of Destruction closes on the Alliance.
