Layla
Layla is the Magic Division's head instructor and an Academy examiner with little patience for arrogant nobles or distracted students.
Biography
Teaching through the Academy crisis
Layla first helps oversee the entrance trial and rejects romantic praise of magic swordsmen, criticizing nobles who use power to bully defenseless commoners. As a professor she calls out Wendy's unexplained giggling with a smile that does not reach her eyes, then joins Grent and Lourdes in the leadership meeting of first-year divisions. When William's magic returns, Wendy assumes Layla would eagerly accept his transfer into the Magic Division. The selected record establishes a strict, engaged instructor but no later war role. (Chapters 122, 233, 267, 274)
