Biography

An arbitrary action ruins the branch's caution

Floyd first barges into Conner's office without knocking, interrupting an important conversation and earning immediate rebuke. Celine later distinguishes Floyd's conduct from Conner's strategy: she believes the branch leader is too intelligent to antagonize her and concludes that Floyd acted arbitrarily. That independent aggression helps make powerful enemies for Deus. Floyd later combines a spell with two Archmages, but watches it destroyed completely and screams in despair. The brief records defeat, not death, imprisonment, or later rehabilitation. (Chapters 431, 450, 488)
