A mother remembered through Chiffon
Leonidas remembers April as someone who deserved better than the man who fathered her child and regrets that those around her did not intervene. April dies while Chiffon is still young, leaving her unable to see the women her daughters become. Her past relationship also explains part of the political care surrounding Chiffon: Leonidas's strong feelings for April motivate him to bring the girl's last living legacy to Kraetor for study and protection. April takes no present-day action because her arc is posthumous. (Chapters 541, 950, 959, 1378)
