Mythryll

Mythryll is a High Elf mage and early member of Cain's traveling party whose class path fuses nature control with demonic and shadow magic. She progresses from an undergeared Nature Mage into a Fallen Warder and then an Eldritch Guardian, gaining wider plant manipulation, corrupted summons, battlefield protection, and the potential to turn an entire forest into an army. Her later life with Nila carries those abilities from Long Fang Valley onto the world's trade routes.

Biography

Nature mage and early journeys

Mythryll first meets Cain after surviving a dungeon expedition with another group, then seeks him and Misha out when her original party breaks apart over reckless pulling. At level 26 she is undergeared and vulnerable, but she has committed most of her build to nature magic because of her Elven affinity. Her small Treant gives the new party another defender, and Cain welcomes the extra control instead of suppressing the summon as her former companions did. (Chapters 15–16)

The new party gives Mythryll room to develop quickly. She reaches level 30, upgrades Guardian Tree, and uses two cancellation effects, an interrupt, and a short silence to prevent dangerous ice attacks. In the demon ruins she scouts through gaps too small for the others, restrains elites with vines, and accepts the heavy mana burden of repeated control casting. Misha's Ice Dragon Robes then reduce her casting costs and encourage an ice specialization that produces Blizzard, the group's first strong broad-area attack. (Chapters 17–19)

Demonic Transformation adds a second combat identity. The spell gives Mythryll armor, a Demon Sword carrying additional dark damage, and Demonic Flame at a mana cost, allowing a fragile caster to enter melee when circumstances favor it. She helps defend a merchant caravan from bandits and insists on pursuing their camp, but supports taking coerced orange-flagged members prisoner rather than killing everyone. Over subsequent campaigns, vines, Razor Grass, Treants, Blizzard, and raid-chat coordination make her a reliable controller as well as one of Cain's earliest field leaders. (Chapters 20–21 and 131)

Approaching first advancement, Mythryll deliberately searches for skills that will open a nature-and-shadow path rather than accepting an unsuitable generic option. Corrupt turns surrounding shadows against targets, while Haunted Woods adds shadow effects to her plant attacks. The latter finally reveals Fallen Warder, an anti-Druid class with damage over time, corrupted summons, and extended demonic transformation. Mythryll chooses it at the close of this arc, trading innate healing for a build that preserves plant growth while emphasizing control and damage. (Chapters 203, 211–212)

Fallen Warder

Fallen Warder reshapes Mythryll's established toolkit instead of discarding it. She invests in maximum shadow damage for nature spells, Shadowed Minions, and Corrupted Forest Friends, while Demonic Affinity increases Demonic Form duration by three hundred percent and adapts that form to the forest. With enough mana, the transformation refreshes automatically and can remain active indefinitely. Mythryll nevertheless prefers her Elven body in ordinary travel because the tall fallen-dryad appearance attracts attention and leaves her less comfortably dressed. (Chapters 212–213)

Her new magic supports a more compact, deceptive style of campaigning. For the merchant quest, Mythryll rejects using a newly reset guild member as exposed bait and proposes expendable puppets instead. She supplies demonic Nightmares for the convoy, helps design an apparently vulnerable noble procession, and relies on Cain's merged companions to hide their strength until bandits commit to an attack. The choices show the same protective judgment she displayed with coerced criminals, now paired with the confidence to shape an operation rather than merely provide spells. (Chapters 212–214)

By level 201, Mythryll has already identified the second advancement she wants. She becomes an Eldritch Guardian and immediately produces a protective aura that absorbs damage equal to one percent of HP every five seconds rather than healing wounds. The class expands her from corrupted skirmish control toward territorial guardianship: its plant range, regeneration, summon access, and future Forest Army are especially suited to Long Fang Valley, where abundant trees and crops turn her environment into both a responsibility and a strategic reserve. (Chapter 283)

Eldritch guardian

Mythryll tests the new class through restoration rather than battle. In and around Long Fang City she regrows rare herbs, repairs and ripens crops damaged by Gnoll attacks, and changes what looked likely to be a lean year for affected farmers. The immediate improvement makes her a local folk hero, particularly among the city's children. When Cain asks her and Misha to remain in the valley during a political crisis, the decision also confirms that her presence is considered a meaningful part of its defense. (Chapter 288)

She still answers military emergencies. During Earl Mills's attack on Blood Sands, Nila wakes Mythryll and brings her to the castle with the companions, placing the Elf among the force resisting an army large enough to overrun most cities. Her Eldritch Guardian kit is built to multiply in tree-rich ground, while her older vines and area spells remain useful against massed targets. The battle reinforces the dual purpose of her advancement: it protects cultivated land by sustaining it in peace and by turning vegetation into defensive strength in war. (Chapter 327)

Mythryll's marriage to Nila then shifts much of her daily life to Queen Rose. The pair undertake a honeymoon voyage, trade valuable goods among many cities, and establish the pink vessel's reputation along Wave Rider routes. Mythryll joins discussions in the hidden floating city, recognizes the need to avoid offending its captains, and advises Cain to seek local guidance before negotiating. She later returns to the sea with Nila, transporting supplies and news while the Darklight Host responds to wider crises. (Chapters 454, 483–488, 501, 507, and 554)

The final supplied chapters do not confirm a third advancement, awakening, or new personal rank for Mythryll. Cain can reproduce Demonic Transformation as a skill book and gives a copy to Sabbat, citing Mythryll's dryad-like manifestation as proof that the spell can make a fragile caster viable in close combat. That later transcription is an application of a known spell, not a copied Mythryll or evidence of her own progression. The endpoint account places the “Elven lovebirds” still exploring the seas, consistent with her continuing life beside Nila. (Chapters 655 and 702)

Appearance and personality

Mythryll is introduced as a diminutive High Elf whose height makes narrow ruins useful scouting routes. She has pale skin with a slight green cast and initially wears mage clothing that adapts dramatically to equipment. Her Ice Dragon Robes appear as a white fairy-like ball gown with a fitted waist, high side slit, split silk sleeves, and lace trim. Her first demonic form turns her skin bright white, changes her hair to dark red with orange flame-like streaks, and adds black horns and folded white leathery wings. (Chapters 16–20)

Fallen Warder changes the transformation into a roughly 180-centimeter forest demon. Her skin becomes dusky peach with black wood-like markings, her limbs and clothing resemble leaves and bark, and small dark trees replace her hair. Ragged Elven ears, gold eyes, clawed fingers, and a branching double-ended sword complete the fallen-dryad appearance. The wooden features remain fully sensitive. In ordinary life, Mythryll prefers her smaller Elven form, both because it feels natural and because the transformed body is conspicuous. (Chapters 212–213)

She is affectionate, curious, and playful, but much more cautious about other people's lives than her humor initially suggests. Mythryll comforts Misha, protects inexperienced guild members from being used as bait, advocates taking coerced criminals alive, and restores civilians' crops without demanding a reward. She enjoys fashion, travel, dancing, and teasing friends, yet is capable of raid coordination and political advice. Her relationship with Nila gradually gives her an independent life at sea without severing her loyalty to Cain or Long Fang Valley. (Chapters 17–21, 131, 212–214, 288, 347, and 454–507)

Skills and class features

Mythryll follows the System's level-based mage progression: Nature Mage, Fallen Warder at first advancement, and Eldritch Guardian after level 200. The through-line is environmental control. Early nature spells restrain and summon; Fallen Warder adds shadow damage, corrupted creatures, and sustainable demonic transformation; Eldritch Guardian greatly widens plant manipulation and adds regeneration, territorial summons, and mitigation. Her effectiveness depends strongly on mana and nearby vegetation, and no post-Eldritch formal advancement is locally confirmed. (Chapters 16–20, 212–213, 283, and 655)

Nature magic, control, and ice

Guardian Tree summons a Treant whose vines can tank and restrain enemies; at rank two it becomes larger and gains stronger vines, though Mythryll receives only one rather than Cain's Puppet Master multiplication. Restraining Vines, Vine Whip, and Entanglement immobilize or slow targets, while Razor Grass adds damage across controlled ground. Elfin Mirage creates duplicates of Mythryll that can cast her nature spells, specifically Vine Whip, Guardian Tree, and Entanglement, multiplying control without turning the images into independently progressing people. (Chapters 16, 18–19, 41, and 131)

Blizzard creates a binding haze of edged magical snow that damages groups and leaves allies unharmed. Its large mana demand forces Mythryll to balance regeneration against cost reduction, and both Blizzard and Demonic Flame have a five-minute cooldown in the early build. The Ice Dragon Robes reduce casting cost and carry a hidden cold-damage bonus, making them especially effective for the spell. Ice remains an acquired specialization rather than the basis of her class; Laura can learn Blizzard by watching because the dragon has an innate ice affinity. (Chapters 17, 19–20, and 131)

Demonic Transformation

The original Grade A Demonic Transformation grants armor, a Demon Sword with sixty additional dark damage, and Demonic Flame costing twenty mana per use. It runs for about ten minutes in Mythryll's early build and changes her body enough to support deliberate melee combat, but the sword prevents simultaneous physical use of her staff even though its passive equipment effects remain. The form can also attract attacks from creatures hostile to demons, and its flame shares a five-minute cooldown with Blizzard. (Chapters 20, 21, and 30)

Fallen Warder's Demonic Affinity increases demonic-form duration by three hundred percent and makes the transformation forest-aligned. Mythryll can then keep it active by automatically refreshing it while she has enough mana. The new form manifests a black wooden double blade and preserves Demonic Flame, but indefinite duration is conditional rather than free: sustaining the refresh still consumes resources. Cain later writes Demonic Transformation into a book for Sabbat; that act copies the spell pattern, not Mythryll's class, levels, or Eldritch Guardian progression. (Chapters 212–213 and 655)

Fallen Warder shadow ecology

Corrupt causes targets in an area to be attacked by surrounding shadows, applies Slow, and deals one hundred twenty percent of spell power as shadow damage over ten seconds. Haunted Woods adds shadow damage to nature attacks with a chance to blind and is described after selection as reducing the attack and spell power of enemies near Treants and vine whips. The combination turns the space around Mythryll's summons into an attrition field instead of relying on a single direct blast. (Chapters 203 and 212)

Shadowed Minions adds shadow damage to Treants and other summons, while Corrupted Forest Friends unlocks a distorted version of a Druid's bear-summoning feature. Fallen Warder also retains the ability to grow ordinary plants and can use Mage and Cleric skill books, but it has no innate healing spells; its class-native analogue to a Druid heal is damage over time. Those limits keep Mythryll a controller and offensive guardian rather than a replacement for the group's dedicated healers. (Chapter 212)

Eldritch Guardian territory

Eldritch Guardian begins with Plant Manipulation extending two meters per level, giving level-201 Mythryll control across roughly four hundred meters under the stated formula. She can summon one Dark Nymph from each tree in range and improve growth, seed production, and regeneration for plants, animals, and forest-type Dark Fae. The class's protective aura absorbs damage equal to one percent of HP every five seconds; it mitigates incoming harm but explicitly does not heal damage already taken. (Chapter 283)

Forest Army can turn every tree inside the Plant Manipulation radius into a Treant, creating enormous numbers in a wooded settlement. Each Treant has a mana upkeep, so the army lasts only until Mythryll's available mana can no longer sustain it. That environmental dependence is the class's defining strength and limitation: Long Fang's parks, orchards, and fields offer hundreds of sources for guardians and nymphs, while barren terrain supplies far fewer bodies. The same plant regeneration that enables defense also restores herbs and damaged crops. (Chapters 283 and 288)

Latest confirmed state

Mythryll's last formal inspection identifies her as a level-201 High Elf Eldritch Guardian. Later chapters demonstrate travel, territorial defense, crop restoration, and continued access to Demonic Transformation, but do not name a higher class, awakening quality, or cultivation realm. Unlike Cain's companion templates, Mythryll is a living transfer rather than a permanent summoned companion, and the corpus does not establish a later copied Mythryll whose quality should be attributed to the original. (Chapters 283, 288, 554, and 655)

Her source-grounded endpoint is therefore an Eldritch Guardian active aboard Queen Rose with Nila. Cain's ability to inscribe one of her learned spells and his references to its behavior demonstrate transferable magical knowledge, not a change to Mythryll's personal status. Her highest confirmed class mechanics remain the protective aura, wide Plant Manipulation, tree-derived Dark Nymphs, regeneration, Forest Army, corrupted nature magic, and sustainable forest-demon form. (Chapters 554, 655, and 702)

Relationships

  • Cain: Cain accepts Mythryll when her former party rejects her preferred summon build, helps her level, and repeatedly trusts her with field coordination and guild defense. Mythryll supports his campaigns but also supplies practical caution, especially when inexperienced allies or political negotiations are involved.
  • Misha: Misha is Mythryll's first close friend in Cain's group. They share equipment, research skills together, comfort one another, and continue treating relaxation and travel as important counterweights to combat. Misha's tailoring produces Mythryll's signature robes.
  • Nila: Nila becomes Mythryll's wife and principal traveling partner. Their honeymoon develops into an ongoing life aboard Queen Rose, where Nila handles command and transport while Mythryll brings magic, judgment, and ties to the Darklight Host's trade and outreach network.
  • Elmira: The Pixie frequently rides in Mythryll's hair or transformed branches and treats both forms as comfortable shelter. Their easy familiarity reflects Mythryll's affinity with small forest beings and her place in the group's earliest chosen family.
  • Long Fang Valley: Mythryll's Eldritch Guardian class is unusually well matched to the valley's dense vegetation. She restores its crops and herbs, protects its residents, and becomes popular with local children, making the territory both a source of power and a community she actively serves.
  • Darklight Host: The Host provides Mythryll with companions, equipment, class resources, and a stable home. She repays it through raid leadership, territorial defense, agricultural recovery, maritime trade, intelligence gathering, and supply delivery.

Items

  • Ice Dragon Robes: Misha crafts Mythryll a Legendary mage-compatible set that appears as a white fairy-like ball gown. It provides cold resistance, armor, and fifteen-percent casting-cost reduction, and its hidden cold-damage bonus supports Mythryll's mana-intensive Blizzard specialization. (Chapters 17 and 19)
