Cyrene

Cyrene is a noble-born Oracle whose involuntary visions and supernatural blindness leave her isolated until Cain gives her a Lamia body and access to the Warseer class. The change restores her sight and turns her unreliable gift into a practical tool for battle forecasting, administration, and relief work. She later completes Mythic Awakening, raises five Lamia daughters, and helps shape the Darklight Host's outreach culture.

Biography

Warseer of Long Fang Valley

Cyrene enters the story at a royal gathering as Count Dufas's sixth daughter and the youngest of triplets. Born an Oracle, she is blinded by the class's persistent curse and receives random visions that neither arrive reliably nor help her navigate. Her family leaves her behind at dinner, but Cain, Misha, and Mythryll include her at their table. Cyrene immediately recognizes Misha from a favorable vision and declares that they will become close friends, beginning the first relationship in which her foresight brings her belonging rather than fear. (Chapter 294)

Her Oracle abilities are powerful but punishing. Cyrene can turn surrounding suffering into vision gems that let another person receive a vision, share someone else's pain in an attempt to provoke foresight, or transmute pain into pleasure at the cost of losing the visionary trigger. Cain's early assistance gives her short-ranged Sonar and the levels needed for an advancement, but the underlying blindness and uncertain timing remain. Asked what future she wants, Cyrene chooses a Lamia form and the Warseer path herself, valuing both the class's battle utility and the welcoming, tactile nature she associates with Lamia. (Chapters 294, 299, and 301)

Cain reshapes Cyrene into a small white-and-red Lamia and grants Battle Visions, after which the new body partially resists her curse and the Warseer class deactivates it completely. She gains sight, enhanced senses, lightning magic, totems, and a more focused ability to compare battlefield outcomes. Cyrene spends her saved points on the entire hundred-point Warseer tree, joins the Darklight Host, and explains the class to her father as a Shaman-derived seer suited to battles and betrayals. Her transformation is a consensual change to the living Cyrene, not the creation of a summon or replacement copy. (Chapters 301–305)

Cyrene's judgment becomes part of the Host's regional leadership. She uses visions to assess likely trouble and valuable rewards, then demonstrates their limits in the Long Fang Valley tower: fire spells carry her through early floors, but every projected plan against fire-immune golems ends in a brutal death, so she forfeits. The decision earns a variable Mythic elemental spell, a new defensive ability, greater speed, and completion of Mythic Awakening, rewarding caution rather than an attempt to overpower an impossible matchup. (Chapter 477)

Mother, oracle, and guild leader

Immediately after awakening, Cyrene helps coordinate a diplomatic banquet intended to strengthen the Darklight Host's regional relationships. She works through the guild's contacts, assists the local commander with invitations, and reports on aid already placed in damaged rural districts. When Cain calls assistance a moral obligation rather than a formal duty, nearby outreach members recognize the principle as consistent with the guild they serve. Cyrene's role has therefore expanded from predicting conflicts to maintaining the network that responds to their consequences. (Chapter 478)

Her place in Cain's household deepens when she lays a clutch of five magically powerful Lamia eggs. Cyrene guards the nest, names Renee, Reika, Rachelle, and Remi after the four later hatchlings join the firstborn Luna, and takes an active role in their discipline and training. She prevents sibling violence, arranges class activation and caregivers, insists that the girls exercise, and teaches Luna to forfeit unwinnable tower encounters and rely on summoned forces rather than rushing into melee. Motherhood therefore extends the same cautious, outcome-oriented judgment Cyrene developed as a Warseer. (Chapters 521, 528, and 530)

Cyrene also formalizes the Darklight Host's public mission. She distributes etiquette instructions for Outreach Workers, promotes a reverential account of Cain's interventions, and organizes volunteers when visions warn her that Port Nefheim is under attack. Although she dislikes fighting, she travels to the threatened city because her visions work better on site, brings awakened Orcs and other volunteers, and lays out camps without blocking roads or damaging crops. By the endpoint she remains with her daughters in the Ancients' world, planning to train in pocket-dimension dungeons until reaching Immortality and accepting a room beside Cain and Misha in their prepared home. (Chapters 504, 513, 554, 587, and 704)

Appearance and personality

Cyrene first appears as a tall cat-eared noblewoman in a blue sequined dress, described in the scene as Beastkin, with furry ears and the clouded eyes associated with an Oracle's blindness; much later she describes her original self as human, leaving the corpus's species wording inconsistent. Cain's transformation replaces that body with a roughly five-meter Lamia form whose humanoid torso is small even by Elven standards. She has pale skin, pointed ears, red eyes that flash with lightning, waist-length bright pink hair, and white scales patterned with scattered red rune-like markings. Her armor is later tailored as a black-and-gold dress with light chain protection along the underside. (Chapters 294, 301–302, 308, and 699)

She is affectionate, earnest, and intensely eager for affirmation. Years of neglect, bullying, and uncontrolled horrific visions leave her insecure even when others regard her as level-headed; she works hard because she fears disappointing the people who finally value her. As a Lamia she instinctively coils around trusted companions, often using Cain as a belt or resting across Cain and Misha, but she also learns that her strength and sensitivity require restraint. Her devotion can become cult-like when presenting Cain to the guild, yet her practical compassion is genuine: she prioritizes displaced villagers, organizes aid, and enters danger despite disliking combat. (Chapters 301, 305, 477–478, 513, 554, and 704)

Skills and class features

Cyrene's power develops across three connected systems: the Oracle abilities and curse she possesses from birth, Cain's physical transformation into a Lamia, and the Warseer advancement unlocked by that body and the granted Battle Visions skill. Mythic Awakening later improves her defenses and gives her an adaptable attack, but the corpus does not confirm a subsequent Spirit, Divine, or Immortal awakening for her. (Chapters 294, 301–302, 477, and 704)

Oracle visions and pain transmutation

As an Oracle, Cyrene receives visions and premonitions without reliable control over their subject or timing. She can recognize a person or event seen in a possible future, but ambiguous imagery can leave identities, locations, and dates unresolved. Pain transmutation gives her three applications: storing surrounding suffering in a vision gem for another viewer, sharing a target's pain to try to trigger her own vision, or converting pain into pleasure. The last option suppresses the visionary trigger, and excessive pleasurable feedback can overwhelm her rather than provide useful information. (Chapters 294 and 297)

Her original blindness is an active supernatural curse rather than ordinary damaged eyesight. Cain's Sonar offers only a five-meter substitute, and accelerated leveling does not remove the problem. The Lamia body's curse resistance restores sight intermittently, while selecting Warseer deactivates the blinding effect altogether. This means her restored vision is an interaction between the new species and class, not a general healing feat that proves all Oracle curses can be cured the same way. (Chapters 299 and 301)

Warseer battle forecasting and spellcraft

Warseer is a Shaman-type advancement with totems, elemental magic, and Battle Visions focused on how fights and tactics may resolve. The gift does not make Cyrene omniscient: she must interpret possible outcomes, proximity can improve the visions, and some situations yield only repeated losses. Its greatest application is decision support—choosing traps, warning of attacks, judging when to retreat, and coordinating people around the most survivable response. Her tower forfeit and the Port Nefheim mobilization show that she treats a forecast as a reason to change plans rather than as an unavoidable prophecy. (Chapters 301, 303–304, 477, and 554)

Cyrene takes every skill in the hundred-point Warseer tree, giving her breadth beyond prediction. Confirmed attacks include lightning, Flame Arrows, and Flame Wall; the latter two combine effectively when she baits enemies into a prepared area. The same encounter exposes her early elemental limitation, because fire-immune golems invalidate her available damage plan. Her spells therefore support tactical preparation better than brute-force dueling, and she openly describes herself as not being a strong combat specialist. (Chapters 302 and 477)

Lamia physiology

The Lamia body gives Cyrene vivid sight, smell, taste, and touch, along with the ability to feel footsteps through scales touching the floor. It is warm-blooded, fast, highly flexible, and strong enough that an instinctive full-force coil could injure a lower-level person. It also has no teeth and a stretchable snake-like jaw, so food is swallowed rather than chewed. These traits help her sense nearby movement and travel quickly, but the long body is initially easy to tangle or step on and requires deliberate practice to use safely. (Chapters 301–303 and 308)

Heightened tactile sensitivity is both comfort and vulnerability. Contact with trusted people helps Cyrene settle into her new instincts, and she frequently coils around Cain or Misha, but even a light stroke can produce an overwhelming response. Her earlier pain-transmutation habits do not simply remove this sensitivity; minor pain may barely register while touch remains unusually intense. Her daughters inherit Lamia traits of their own, but their Progenitor species, four arms, classes, and individual qualities are not evidence of additional abilities possessed by Cyrene herself. (Chapters 302–303, 528, and 530)

Mythic Awakening and latest state

Cyrene completes Mythic Awakening through the tower's special reward for recognizing an unwinnable matchup and forfeiting before forced ejection. She receives the Mythic-ranked Variable Spell of Elemental Bolt, which produces a ten-centimeter ball of energy in any elemental variety, and immediately demonstrates ice and lightning versions. The System also grants an unnamed defensive ability and adjusts her modifiers; the visible result is markedly greater speed. Because the defensive ability is never identified, no more specific mechanic can be assigned to it. (Chapter 477)

Her latest confirmed combat state remains Mythic Awakened Warseer. Much of her later effectiveness comes from information and organization rather than a newly named rank: she forecasts instability caused by competing Oracles, advises how plans can provoke truthful visions, coordinates outreach, and guides her children. At Chapter 704 she plans to use the Ancients' pocket-dimension dungeons until she reaches Immortality, wording that confirms Immortality as a future objective rather than an achieved stage. (Chapters 550, 553–554, and 704)

Relationships

  • Cain: Cain supplies Cyrene with Sonar, levels, a chosen Lamia transformation, and the Battle Visions skill that unlocks Warseer. She becomes fiercely devoted to him, later has five daughters with him, and remains part of his household. Her public reverence sometimes exceeds his comfort, but she also supports him with visions, administration, and candid emotional reassurance.
  • Misha: Cyrene recognizes Misha from a vision as her future best friend before they properly meet. Misha advocates for her, helps her adapt to the Lamia body, and provides the steady physical affection that calms her. By the endpoint Misha specifically arranges for Cyrene's room to adjoin the family suite.
  • Luna, Renee, Reika, Rachelle, and Remi: Cyrene is mother to five Lamia daughters. She protects their eggs, stops their first violent impulses, names and disciplines them, arranges their education, and teaches them the cautious tactical habits that kept her alive in the tower.
  • Count Dufas and Mama Neko: Cyrene's father and grandmother are among the relatives who care about her despite the neglect she experiences elsewhere in the family. Dufas accepts both her transformed body and guild membership, while her grandmother publicly welcomes her and presses Cain to treat her well.
  • Darklight Host Outreach Workers: Cyrene helps turn the guild's strength into a relief and influence network. She writes etiquette, coordinates rural assistance and reinforcements, and promotes a shared history in which Cain's protection becomes the moral center of the organization.

Items

  • Regalia of the Beloved Leader: A jade-and-ruby set whose serpentine design resembles Cyrene's white scales and red markings. The acquisition scene has Laura notice the resemblance and Cain purchase and equip the set; a later account credits Cyrene with finding it for Cain. Cyrene is therefore associated with its discovery and design, not its owner or wearer. (Chapters 440–441 and 599)
